WRESTLEMANIA 29 - Planning and excitement thread for atendees! 7 days away!
Alright everyone -
The day after WM27 last year, we started this thread in reference to the just-passed WM28. So, let's do it all again and start our road to WM29 right now! Money allowing, I'd freaking love to head to NYC next year. Who's going?!?!
Apparently tickets for GAAxxess on the Friday night are selling out fast! Hope this isn't the case for all GAs, as I was planning to get mine when I get there
Me too, but I read someone earlier in this thread say that the tickets never actually sell out. It's just that ticketmaster only have a certain allocation. So we should be fine showing up on the day and buying tickets at the arena.
Hey guys I have a question in regards to the cab situation for Axxess. Is there a cab stand at the Izod Center like there is at Madison Square Garden? If not, is calling for a cab and finding the driver easy to do at this arena? I've never been to the Izod Center and I will be staying at the Meadowlands Plaza Hotel about a mile away in Secaucus.
There will be about 80,000 people leaving all at the same time so i doubt you will be able to call a taxi the find it. You are better off just trying to grab one from outside.
Saying that if its only 1 mile to the hotel it will probably be quicker walking
There are no cab stands by Izod or Metlife like MSG. Both Izod and Metlife are located in a GIANT parking lot off some highways. You won't see any foot and street traffic so you can't hail a cab like the city. I highly recommend renting a car/driving to the complex. That's by far the best and easiest way to get to the arena.
Public Transportation: there are no trains that go to this area. There are certain buses that go Izod/Metlife are that depart from Port Authority in Nyc. But I do not know where in the complex the buses will drop you off.
Cabs: I would only recommend a cab to get to the arena. But from the arena to your hotel, good luck lol. Jersey cab drivers are dumb. Good luck getting them to locate you in the Sports Complex. Plus while your cab is looking for you, someone can easily steal your cab before it gets to you leaving you stranded and frustrated.
My best recommendation for you out of towners is to rent a car/ drive into the arena. The sports complex are very car friendly.
I have a General Admission ticket for Axxess up for grabs - on Sunday 7th April, 12.30pm. (Because of the TicketMaster fiasco when they went on sale I bought it as I thought I couldn't get a VIP, but I ended up getting Bret Hart so now I need to offload the GA as it's at the same time)
The only thing is as I'm an international buyer (from England) I have to collect the ticket with my ID on the day, so if anyone wanted it they would have to meet me there. I paid $65 on TM for it, I know they are going cheaper elsewhere but I would take $60 straight cash and we can meet up on the day and do the deal.
Anyone interested, let me know here.
(By the way, I'm assuming this is all above board? Also, do they ID you at the door and check that your ticket has your name on it? In other words, can someone else use my ticket to get in?)
I bought a ticket during the first presage that was labeled as VIP too. Tm sent out an email clarifying it was only for general admission and offered refunds. I got a hbk VIP ticket and was able to get my refund for the ga ticket fairly easily by emailing tm. You should try the same.
Nice to hear you liked it. I live 3-4 hours away, but the best tickets are $700 + a piece for level 3. I think I will be watching this one from home just like every other year.
Now where is info about Raw after Mania???!!!! Someone said the sale begins in february 9th??! But when is presale?!?! I wanna get those ringside tickets!! Damn!!!
Here are two others, but they're not all that better.
Ehh, how disappointing. I don't know if it's just me, but the last two WM theme songs really put something in the air for me, in terms of anticipation. These three aren't any less "poppy" than Invincible and Written in the Stars so to speak, but they got me hyped, and that's what I like and look forward to in my theme songs. These three are really lacklustre.
And to think, for a while I was annoyed because I thought they were using that "I'm coming home" song for what felt like the 30495835th time. I'd take that any day over these.
Like I said on the one hand, it's been used so many times before. But it's literally twice the song any of those other ones will ever be, and it's not even particularly that good.
Wrestlemania isn't really that far away, but I'm afraid I've spent already plenty of $$$ on WWE in last 12 months to justify a trip to NY + tickets and everything else.
Damn you Dolph Ziggler and your pink shirt, why did I have to buy 4 of them as gifts, screw you Ryder and your awesome (or should I say sssiiiccckkk) shirts and shades. Along with partially buying every PPV and trip to Hershey Raw and hometown Raw. FGTS.
That being said (/venting over), the go home Raw is here and a couple months later MITB is here as well, its not the end of the world to miss 2 rematches and shit at Wrestlemania.
Wrestlemania 30 is where it's going to be at. That's what I'm saving up my money for.
