WRESTLEMANIA 29 - Planning and excitement thread for atendees! 7 days away!

Alright everyone -

The day after WM27 last year, we started this thread in reference to the just-passed WM28. So, let's do it all again and start our road to WM29 right now! Money allowing, I'd freaking love to head to NYC next year. Who's going?!?!

Getting super psyched now for the whole weekend!! just one question id really appreciate any help with. I'm getting into JFK on Friday at around 1.30pm, and I was going to get the subway into Manhattan where I'm staying. Now I'm getting worried I'll make myself a target for someone to try and take my stuff if I try and take the subway with a suitcase of luggage. I live in London so I understand about keeping my wits about when on the train and whatnot, but i wouldnt worry about this sort of thing there. Am i massively overreacting or should I consider a safer mode of transport to my hotel eg. Taxi?

You're arriving in the afternoon so it's likely going to be okay. You'll pass by a few shady neighborhoods but it should be just fine. It's illegal to solicit money on the subways and around the city so don't buy into those people trying to hand you their music or other crap. It'll probably take almost an hour to take the shuttle bus from the airport to the subway and get all the way down from queens to the city. I went to JFK via subway and bus in the past at like 2 or 3am and all was good so you should be okay, brother. Taxi has a flat rate to the city, went up since the last time I went so my guess is around $45-50 maybe?

Thanks to all those that replied to my question about getting the train into Manhattan, I really appreciate your help! I'm travelling on my own, but I still can't wait! I'm leaving Heathrow in just over 24 hours now, so I just wanna say to everyone on here enjoy Wrestlemania! It's gonna be a great event and I guarantee you WWE has some tricks up their sleeves, we'll be shocked and awed in some way or another.

I'd say your safest option is to buy a ticket for a shuttle bus on NJTransit. That way you don't have to rely on trains and can relaxas yor travel will be sorted. The ticket is about $10 and runs from Penn Station to Metlife. Just google "NJTransit wrestlemania" and click on the first link that comes up.

Just to ask to see what others would do. I have 4 fractures in the vertebrae in my back and am in a back brace. This happened almost a month ago in a car accident. I have had my tickets and hotel booked for months. No way I'm not coming though it would probably be smarter just to stay home and watch it from the couch. But this is the closest it will probably ever come to me and it will be my first Mania. I think the car ride will be the worst part of all of this. I should be fine at the event.

But out of general curiosity am a being a dumb ass and if in my situation would you do the same thing? I just can't not go. Life doesn't stop and I'd hate myself for a while if I didn't come.
