Re: What if Undertaker had lost...

It definitely would have made Orton a bigger name no matter what would come of it. I didn't know about any of this, though. I wish I hadn't taken such a long break away from watching WWE.

Taker should never lose at WM.

Taker should really retire this year, undefeated.

Also I would hate to see Cena/Taker. This match is literally impossible to watch. Sorry.

The Undertaker vs John Cena - Buried Alive Match

That's how it will end I imagine.

Ryback ending Undertakers streak??

If the rumours are true about WWE making a top new guy this Batista/RVD/Goldbeurge Heffer (No Offence)may end Undertakers streak.
The death of his streak marks the end of an era and the begging of a new. Ryback may be the one to end it
Thoughts?

Um, no, it was Taker who pitched the idea of Angle ending The Streak at WM 22 to Vince when the original plan was to do Taker vs Angle at WM 22.

But instead of calmly told Taker he couldn't accept that, Vince overreacted by erasing every Taker/Angle plan at WM 22 and booked 'em in No Way Out 2006 instead.

To be fair, I think it's unfair to say that. Sting never even wrestled in WWE & the best time for it happen was at WM 27, in which we saw Sting preferred to face a drug addict.

As for the rest of those names, with Savage, Perfect, Hart, and Foley included, I think it was the matter of Vince being a horny idiot. Yes, I know Vince is a very successful businessman, but he's not the genius many people made him out to be. I think the main reason why Taker never faced the likes of Hogan, Bret, Savage, Perfect, Foley, Angle, Eddie, and Jericho at Wrestlemania was because until Wrestlemania 22, 5 of The Undertaker's Wrestlemania matches are reserved to push talentless lower mid-card big men. Of course, I'm referring to Wrestlemania 9, 11, 15, 19, and 22.

At Wrestlemania 9, instead of booking Taker against Hogan or Savage or Perfect, Vince put him against Giant Gonzales to put Gonzales over.

At Wrestlemania 11, instead of booking Taker against Bret or even Bigelow, we got Bundy.

At Wrestlemania 15, instead of giving us the pinnacle of Taker vs Mankind in a match to end their feud, Vince decided to give Boss Man a push.

At Wrestlemania 19, instead of giving us Taker vs Eddie, Vince opted to push Jones & A-Train.

At Wrestlemania 22, Vince scrapped the idea of Taker vs Angle after Taker pitched the idea of Angle ending The Streak. But Vince overreacted instead of simply saying, "No, Mark, you'll still win the match".

Any match with Goldberg, Lesnar, Rock, and Jericho could have happened at WM 20. But we got that sucky rematch instead.

And Taker/Andre should have been booked at WM 7 (no offense to Snuka), imagine that, Taker's first WM & Andre's last WM, I guess it was the matter of Vince not seeing that legendary opportunity (despite the fact it's been saying hello right under his nose).

And Taker/Austin could have happened at WM 16 if weren't for the injuries they suffered.

Perhaps because it's a "one & only" accomplishment. In a sense, no one has ever done it before and perhaps no one ever will. That's why so many fans are attracted to it and ended up feeling an attachment to The Streak. Add to the fact The Undertaker's otherworldly status and everything is perfect to make one huge gimmick accomplishment. And the fact that it lasted for 2 decades amazed so many people as well.

And to be fair, out of the 17 names on The Streak, only 4 of them now are nobodies (Gonzales, A-Train, Bundy, and Boss Man).

The other 13 are either legends (Snuka, Roberts, Nash, HBK, HHH, Flair, and Kane) or very successful top superstars with multi-time world championships (Show, Henry, Sid, Batista, Edge, and Orton), so at least The Streak could brag about beating out big names 80% of the time.

In your eyes should WWE book someone like the Miz or Barrett against Taker at WM 29?

I mean the way it's shaping up it doesn't appear that it will be Lesnar vs. Undertaker or Cena vs. Undertaker. So I ask you do you really think someone like Miz or Wade Barrett's career can be propelled by facing the Undertaker?

Re: In your eyes should WWE book someone like the Miz or Barrett against Taker at WM

Nah. I think 'Taker facing someone like Miz or Barrett would be boring! Cena or Lesnar would be a hell of a RTWM, and a hell of a match! Plus, imagine going from facing HBK twice, then HHH twice including hell in a cell, then going on to face someone like Miz...
