With an Era having been ended now I'd love to see one of 2 challengers next year for the streak with the streak actually being ended and the rub being given...

1- CM Punk

He would be a better choice than anyone else on the roster in all likelihood just based off of his "Best Wrestler in the World" claims. It also doesn't hurt that he actually can put on a great match with Taker. Why wouldn't Taker want to face someone who not only claims to be the best wrestler in the world but as of late has been booked as such. They could actually build a great story between the two.

It also leads to great future WM angles between Punk and HHH and or Punk and HBK, with either or both playing a heel role to a face Punk and resenting the fact that Punk did something neither could.

2- Daniel Bryan

Bryan is an interesting name to consider. If the WWE spent the year truly building him up as the ultimate underdog, their modern day Rocky Balboa of sorts, this could work. But they would have to truly commit to building and pushing Bryan and do it now. Bryan could be cemented as a top babyface if he actually defeated the odds and ends the streak.

And that could be a great catalyst for a Punk heel turn and fantastic program between he and Bryan coming out of that. It also leads to a fantastic program between Bryan and a heel HBK for WM30, resentful teacher vs babyface student.

What I think happening is they are saving Cena's innevitable heel turn to be against Taker at Wrestlemania, be it 29 or 30 that I don't know but let's face it Undertaker has become Wrestlemania's attraction and anyone who walks into the ring with him at the event turns into the heel and no one absolutely no one be it Batista, Michaels, HHH or anyone for that matter gets a bigger pop for Undertaker walking into that match just cause of respect and his name and legacy. THat is why if Cena faces him he will be booed like it were ECW homecoming 2006 again where he faced Van Dam. Cena would definately be the heel in that feud weather WWE wants it or doesn't and that is why I think they will show his heel run and mean streak for it.

And why they didn't turn him like they did with Austin against the ROck which many people thought they would, saving the turn for Taker / Cena. Which isn't that bad of an idea.

@Errybodytaps

^^They could get monster face pushs and would still be boo'd as a heel vs Taker for the streak.

He doesn't need it, it would be stupid. 20 and 0 is a perfect number for him to go out on, the moment where him, HBK and HHH are all on the stage with each other is a fitting end to his career and pretty much the only thing on that PPV worthy of being called a "WrestleMania moment", and any Streak match from this point forward is anti-climactic. How do you sell a nearfall at Mania and have people believe it after what they've just seen? I'll admit it, there were certain times in that match...they had me. I was worried Triple H was going to end the Streak when HBK and HHH did the SCM/Pedigree combo. But after kicking out of everything he did at this Mania, it's done. He CAN'T lose. They couldn't convince me that Brock Lesnar and The Rock in a handicap match were a threat to the Streak after what we've seen this year.
I agree with this 100% however, keep in mind that the age group and fans that the WWE cater to right now aren't as smart as we are and don't exactly have that well of a memory, I mean let's face it the WWE fans have a memory of a goldfish. At Mania 27 it was built around HHH/Taker being once in a lifetime but they've already met at Wrestlemania before back at 17. I can still see them doing Taker at more Mania's and milking out a Cena match, even though it may not seem worthy for the streak kayfabe wise the fans will be happy to see it cause they aren't going to sit there and think to themselves at the age of 10 or so - "Hey, Taker beat HHH and Shawn twice and in a Cage... what can Cena do that they can't?" it's jsut not something that they'll do. Kids kayfabe wise don't question the WWE, we were all young marks like that..

No, I believe both wouldn't be booed as such if they book Taker to respect either or. Probably would work best if Taker handpicked one as his opponent or one would try to trade in a Royal Rumble win for a chance at the streak.

In the case of Punk he could even be booked by Johnny to take on Taker at WM after Punk repeatedly thwarts all of Johnny's attempts to screw Punk and have him drop the title. If every other attempt would fail then Johnny could use the streak as a last resort. If Taker respects his opponent and should they keep Punk/Bryan in a face role I don't think the fans will boo either out of the building especially with the number of people from the NY/NJ/Philly area in the crowd.

Default How scared would you be if taker was booked to face cena in an I quit match at mania

Lol Cena has made this match into his own , you just can't make the man say I quit ! While on the other hand Takers streak has become Immortal . What a dream match , but how scared would you be for the streak ?

well if cena entered the match as a face i don't see any way possible to force him to say the words!
and we know taker won't lose so this match
so what will happen how the match will end i guess this is the only match in this form that can top last 4 years matches

taker would pass out to the STF and the ref would ring the bell

make Austin the guest ref so it had parallels to Bret

I would buy a ticket and go to the arena with a rocket launcher aimed at Cena as soon as he locks in the STF. Ha, not really. My heart would definitely be beating in fear of face Cena boring us even further.
