Re: If undertaker doesn't compete at wrestlemania
I think its a possibility that they don't use him this year, Triple H remember went out of his way to tell us at the Slammies that we'd see Taker again so hes definitely not retired yet.
It would likely mean we get Rock/Cena/Punk at Mania and Brock/Trips is Triple H's retirement match.

Re: If undertaker doesn't compete at wrestlemania
If Undertaker doesn't compete, than Punk is screwed.
The logical thing would be to make the main event triple threat match...but they won't. They just won't. Deep down I think we all know it, even if we don't want to admit it.
But then what, for Punk? It's a good question, because I have no idea.

perhaps both rematches happen, I guess the next best choice would be sheamus? Character wise

Re: Official Undertaker WM Streak Thread - No Other Threads
Not sure if anyone posted this before me, I assume someone has but I don't want to go looking back through a hundred pages. So, this is what I read this morning on facebook.

Undertaker vs Punk UPDATE.
Earlier today a story came out about The Undertaker being undecided at this moment about working WrestleMania this year. Several people close to The Undertaker have said that they have been given a different version of that story. It's being said that the hold up here is the result of the match. When Taker said he wanted to work with Punk at WM he told WWE officials he wants The Streak to end and to retire, and Punk is his personal choice to pull it off. Higher up officials in WWE have been trying to convince Taker to pull back on that, as they are against the idea of Punk ending it. As of now the two sides have yet to reach an agreement, and both seem to remain very stern in their views. - Mr. Don

Even as a huge fan of the feud I know that "match" barely scraped 3 stars.

Really? I don't know about that either. That match is way behind HBK/Taker from WM 25 imo.
Okay, I'm going to bring up another viewpoint. Suppose Taker says screw it for this Mania because he doesn't really care to face CM Punk? I mean they did have beef years back.
It would be weird if he does miss Mania being a big part of it the last decade, but if last year's match turns out to be his last it would be fitting.
Of course, I expect Cena/Taker for WM 30 is really where he'll make his money.
I also think reaching 20 wins last year changes the scope of the streak perhaps in his mind in terms of wrestling regardless of condition to get to that double digit.
Not saying either way, but the rumors just seem suspect to me. It feels like a work for a retirement match. It would be the perfect way for him to end the streak with 2 years rumor of him being too banged up and he hangs it up at the 30th edition of Mania.

If this is true, which part of me severely doubts, wow. Interesting too he'd want Punk to end it over Cena.

Punk could use the rub. Cena is the last person that could use the rub.

Re: If undertaker doesn't compete at wrestlemania
I'd like to see him as 100% as a 48+ year old man can be. He's old, and we've been spoiled to see him wrestle for this long. I like him taking the year off and start the build against Cena for 30.

Re: Official Undertaker WM Streak Thread - No Other Threads
Taker will retire with the streak intact. There will be some storyline where The Undertaker like a ghost crosses over to the after life and then will retire. This year Taker should face Brock and then Cena next year and then retire 22-0
