Re: Was anyone ever considered (Even briefly) to break Takers streak?

That was probably my favourite match from Batista. I remember the dirtsheets for this one, Batista immediately started shouting/bragging the second he went behind the curtain that he and Taker had 'won' the card.

Pretty sure Kane has been offered in the past to break the streak by Undertaker himself, but turned it down.

I remember reading the dirtshits around the time of WM 21 and I was absolutely convinced Orton was winning. Chokeslam into the RKO had me truly believing it was OVER. Awesome stuff.

If anyone it should've been Orton. He was young enough to send us into a new era with the loss and also he was The Legend Killer, killer of a legend's streak would go quite well with that.

Re: Was anyone ever considered (Even briefly) to break Takers streak?

I have heard on several different occasions The Undertaker wasn't supposed to win vs King Kong Bundy, and it was King Kong Bundy that was against Taker not winning. Bundy literally kept the streak alive by willingly jobbing to The Undertaker.

Kane in 98 but that's when the streak really wasn't in tact.

Top 10 all time favorites:

Stone Cold Steve Austin
The Undertaker
Shawn Michaels
Chris Jericho
Brock Lesnar
Kurt Angle
HHH
Edge
CM Punk
Kane (98-04)

Kurt Angle reckons Taker wanted him to end the streak (I assume at Mania 22), but who knows if that's true or not. You can never be sure of anything Kurt says anymore

Oh my god newcastle people have such bad reputation in India . Vikram remembers when newcastle man ATTACK horse after game because he angry and drunk now I read daily mail today and see fight and violence in newcastle and one picture shows man wanting to fight horse. I don't know Newcastle apart from football team but they get reputation of animal attacker here

Undertaker offered Kane to end the streak in 2004 at Wrestlemania 20 but Kane declined out of respect.

Re: Was anyone ever considered (Even briefly) to break Takers streak?

Why didn't Kane win in their first match? Surely booking-wise it would have made sense for Kane to win as hit was his first big match with him being the new big star at the time. Never understood that one.

Re: Was anyone ever considered (Even briefly) to break Takers streak?

I remember hearing writers say that Kennedy was considered. When Kennedy got hot, apparently McMahon said to the writers "This might be the year" in reference to ending the streak.
