Cena vs CM Punk MITB- Fuck It, i'll say it
I rate this match as *****
Maybe i'll come back and laugh at myself for saying this in 4 weeks, i've been back & forth with how good i think this match is when i first saw it i instantly thought it was a perfect match, but tbh i've been guilty of overrating matches on first site in the past (I'll hold my hands up and say i'm one of the guilty people who rated Flair/HBK as *****), so then i sort of went back on it and said that it was around the ****1/2 mark, but looking back at it again i really do think this match is as good as it possibly could've been, and tbh i really did enjoy it as much as damn near any match i've ever seen, and still do.
I mean that when i say it could not have been better, there was a thread made in the General WWE section about what makes a great wrestler (Forgotten the name of the thread), there were more then a few things i disgreed with in what he said but the point he made was good: The quality of a pro-wrestler is mainly based on how he connects with the audience, and these 2 did that perfectly, there wasn't a moment where the live audience wasn't complete encpsulated by what was going on in the ring, and i got the exact same feeling watching it, which was something i really didn't think i'd ever get from Wrestling again. Watching it, i literally felt like i was there in the building, just the entire atmosphere they managed to create for the entire match, it felt more like a World-Cup final then another forgettable WWE PPV.I've gone back and watched the match again and i know i said i may laugh at myself for saying this but having seen every little detail i honestly do think it was perfect, i don't say that about a lot of matches and i've watched more then my share of 'Rasslin. For one night only, this match reminded me exactly why i love Pro-Wrestling, and i don't want to speak for anybody else but i'm sure it did the same thing for a lot of people as well.
