Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman will incorporate a familiar instrument of destruction in their renewed, volatile rivalry when they collide in an Ambulance Match at the first-ever WWE Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view event.

Back in April on Raw, Strowman unleashed a relentless assault on The Big Dog, flipping over an ambulance with his war-torn adversary inside. He then followed up that vicious attack with a dominant victory over The Big Dog at WWE Payback. The following month, Reigns showed it was still his yard when he executed a brutal counter-assault on Strowman that sent the big man away in an ambulance of his own.

Strowman would return the way he went out, suddenly reemerging in an ambulance as The Big Dog battled Samoa Joe on the June 19 edition of Raw. Not only did the distraction allow Joe to overcome Reigns, but The Monster Among Men got some of his own licks in on the three-time WWE Champion before challenging Reigns to an Ambulance Match at WWE’s first-ever Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view event.

An Ambulance Match can’t end in disqualification, count-out, pinfall or submission. Instead, the only way for Reigns or Strowman to emerge victorious is to put their opponent into the back of an ambulance and close the doors.

But who will survive the carnage between the opening bell and the final slamming of the door? Find out at the WWE Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view event on Sunday, July 9, at 8 ET/5 PT, streaming live on WWE Network.

FINALLY!!!

I've been wanting to watch this match since earlier this year and I'm so happy that it's happening.

Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman in an Ambulance match. Thank you, WWE!!!!

With their history with the ambulance, it was always going to end this way. Braun to get a convincing win hopefully to take him into Summerslam. Esp as he's going up against Brock next.

i actually think that roman will win, since braun won last time(payback) and they could go with reigns taking the belt off lesnar earlier than expected- at least i hope so, since i'm tired of the "part time champion who rarely shows up".

This should be another classic from Reigns and Braun.

They just work so well together. Really have good chemistry

Yeah --- the stipulation tells me that Braun will win, as the loser of an ambulance match doesn't eat a pinfall. They're maneuvering to protect Reigns from a straight up loss.

If they were putting Reigns' over, then they would've booked a regular match to give him a pinfall over Strowman. They would never use an ambulance match for him.

The build up to this match has been good, coherent, and the stipulation perfectly matches not only the intensity involved with it, but also incorporates the prop they've used throughout the feud. Good booking.

It was a shame that the feud got side tracked due to Braun's injury but it is good to see it get back on track and no doubt Reigns and Braun have another great match here. Looking forward to this the most on this PPV.

If the plan is to have Reigns face Lesnar at SummerSlam then I see Reigns going over but due to it being an Ambulance match no doubt they have Braun look strong in defeat.

Anyone else see Strowman doing a front chokeslam or a move of some sort on top of the ambulance which leads to Reigns crashing through it?

It's the closest we'll get to a protective win for Strowman considering the real end to the match is to put your injured opponent on a stretcher and get them in the ambulance.

Strowman has to win though. To go 2-1 up in this feud is big for him. I hope they listen to the reaction he got on Monday, with the crowd in unison raising their arms when he does and realise with the correct booking and handling of his talents, he can be something in this company. Whether it's as a dominating heel that has protective losses or as a future face who will just kick ass.

Re: Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman (Ambulance Match) (Great Balls of Fire)

Done correctly Braun could become the New Eras "Next Big thing" and actually benefit Reigns, they book next few ppvs correct:

-Defeat Reigns by throwing him through ambulance throw (ala Cena vs Ryback) and Reigns misses Summerslam.

-Defeat Lesnar at Summerslam for Universal Championship,
Momentum should be capitalised whilst its hot.

-Vs. Reigns at Hell In a Cell. I want to say Braun retaining but an epic war with Reigns with Reigns winning could actually help Reigns get more heat. Cocky Reigns after could tip him more into a heel turn

-vs Reigns (& Lesnar) Survivor Series, last few have had big matches so Lesnar returning would work to an epic 3 way. Finish has Lesnar get Strowman up for F5 only for reigns to spear for the win.

TLC dont know but,

Vs Reigns V, Last Man Standing at Royal Rumble whilst Lesnar wins the Rumble.

At WM, Heyman turns on Lesnar and sides with champion, whoever won at Rumble, Strowman or Reigns.

Better than another normal match...

That's exactly what I am starting to think.

Which is why this match is tense to even think about the result, either we're getting Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman and they are going to wait this out.

Or if Roman wins, it means they're potentially cracking under pressure and we're getting Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar earlier at SummerSlam and we're gonna do this now.

We're not sure which they've done.

Braun is going to summerslam to face lesnar so they should have Braun to win but I don't have faith in wwe's booking.

I genuinely could see this going either way. They might fast-track both Roman-Lesnar and Roman-Cena to try and get the main event scene out of the predictable rut it's in (or just do what I suggest and have Joe beat Lesnar, dirty or not) or they might go with Braun-Lesnar which could also end with a title change.

its a sad situation when people are hoping reigns faces lesnar at summerslam just so we can get it over with.

its like a job interview or dentist appointment, its not desirable but its better done sooner rather than later just so the negative outlook of the near future isnt prolonged, then we can enjoy seeing the championship go from a guy thats never around to a guy that wont piss off for two minutes.

Roman Reigns' Ambulance Match against Braun Strowman may prove to be the most important match of the year

When you consider the high-stakes nature of Roman Reigns’ Ambulance Match against Braun Strowman at the first-ever WWE Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view on Sunday, July 9, it is conceivable that the epic slugfest could very well be the most important clash of 2017.

The latest chapter in the extremely volatile rivalry between Reigns and Strowman carries enormous implications for The Big Dog. Reigns has officially staked his claim that Raw is his yard, a notion that could have a tremendous long-term impact on WWE.

Reigns has backed up his talk with a tremendous history of taking on anyone put in front of him while constantly refusing to hide behind the likes of The Authority or any other force that could provide him an easier rise to the top. In April, he earned the rare distinction of overcoming The Undertaker at WrestleMania, which propelled his career to even greater heights. Reigns has clearly proven himself a force to be reckoned with, capable of carrying WWE on his back week-in and week-out. Looking to continue his meteoric rise to the top of the red brand, the three-time WWE Champion has already challenged the winner of the Universal Championship Match between Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe to a title bout at SummerSlam.

However, despite heroic strides, Reigns is likely well-aware that a second pay-per-view loss to a dangerous competitor like Strowman could seriously threaten his championship aspirations, making it a safe bet that The Guy will pull out all the stops to keep that from happening. But will it be enough?

The match also carries significant ramifications for Strowman, the personification of destruction. Prior to crossing paths with Reigns, Strowman was already running wild and attacking Superstars if he didn’t get his way.

His brutal attack on The Big Dog in April -- in which he turned over an ambulance with the three-time WWE Champion inside – showed just how far he was willing to go to eliminate the competition. And his victory over Reigns at WWE Payback was punctuated by The Monster Among Men ruthlessly driving the steel steps into his rival’s midsection in an unforgettable and horrifying moment. Now the ferocious Superstar will be out to take full advantage of the chaotic environment of an Ambulance Match, likely with the intent of making Reigns suffer so bad that he won’t be able to compete for the Universal Title.

A loss by Reigns could change everything. If Strowman produces another dominant showing, it’s possible that he could leapfrog his adversary in the Universal Title picture. If the massive competitor once again defeats The Big Dog, he could approach Raw General Manager Kurt Angle the following night on Raw with a legitimate claim to challenge whoever the titleholder is at SummerSlam. And if he were to be granted that right amd went on to capture the championship, Strowman’s reign of uncontrollable mayhem could reach even scarier heights. The level of brutality that would follow with Strowman on the top of the mountain could threaten the very order of Monday Night Raw and all of WWE.

The importance of this match at the first-ever WWE Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view is heightened given that it is a highly-personal showdown, containing a stipulation that completely throws the rulebook out the window. With all eyes on this inaugural event and the gloves off, it’s safe to say that both Superstars will be at their most vicious, and their combined intensity may result in lasting harm to one another and anyone else who gets in their way.

Don’t miss what promises to be a chaotic brawl at WWE Great Balls of Fire on Sunday, July 9 at 8 ET/5 PT, streaming live on WWE Network.
