United States Champion Rusev has torn through every Superstar thrown his way, but at WWE Fast Lane, the rookie monster will try the most decorated opponent imaginable: John Cena. The Authority announced the match on Twitter on Jan. 26.
After finishing second in the Royal Rumble Match, eliminated by eventual Rumble winner Roman Reigns, an irate Rusev stormed the set of Royal Rumble Fallout and interrupted a backstage interview with the Cenation leader. Cena did not take kindly to the act, and within seconds the altercation erupted into a pull-apart brawl.
Now that the match is official, it will not be long before the WWE Universe finds out if even Cena is strong enough to stop the mighty Hero of the Russian Federation.
Rusev has yet to be pinned or made to submit in the year since he debuted. Will the 15-time World Champion, undoubtedly looking to rebound from his loss in Royal Rumble’s instant-classic Triple Threat Match, stop the unapologetic Super Athlete in his tracks? Or will Rusev only further demonstrate his dominance, this time taking down the WWE Universe’s perennial favorite in the process?

This sickens me to the core.. two years in a row of this shit of shenna going over someone with less than a year on the main roster???? Cena's going to stand over him with that asshole grin no selling everything making Rusev look like trash??
Fucking
Pathetic
He's in Wrestlemania vs John Cena after a massive undefeated streak.
It's not that bad. lol. I'd call that a rub to be honest.
But of course, it could be better for sure. He could have gone vs another up and coming wrestler, but it's still not as bad as people are panicking over.

Do people still believe Cena verbally destroying other Wrestlers with shit jokes for a Month, then wiping the floor with them at a PPV after no selling them for 20 minutes is in any way, shape or form beneficial to the other wrestler?
Maybe some absolutely unknown jobber or a mid-card nobody main eventing a RAW against Cena would be a rub. But for somebody who's never taken a pin to lose to him at WM, it's no rub, it's just another CenaWinsLol moment that revolves entirely around him.
dude, i've been a huge cena fan for a long time but even i am against this. elevate someone else by having them break rusev's undefeated streak. cena has been on top for more than 10 years. he doesn't need this shit.
As a Rusev fan and probably the first guy here on this forum to actually give a fuck about the guy I can honestly say losing to Cena at this point isn't a horrible outcome, but I am pretty sure that Rusev will win.
Rusev is a star, a true talent, he's not bound to his win/loss record at all. What makes Rusev fantastic is his ability in-ring and how incredibly naturally talented he is at everything in professional wrestling, even as a foreigner who learnt English as a second language, he's very good with his promos too.
What I'm saying is, even though I don't think Rusev will lose at Wrestlemania against Cena, if he does, it's not going to affect him that much. He's a great in-ring talent, relatively young, and deserves this match more than Bray Wyatt did at his point of his career.

Rusev is talented and I'm a big fan of his, but c'mon man... this is Cena we're talking about. Rusev isn't beating Cena. Cena has gone over countless guys far for talented than he is before and he'll do it again :/
I told people from the beginning, don't invest in this guy, he ain't gonna make it. This is literally the same monster heel run I've seen 100 times, and it always ends with the top face beating them, and then the monster heel becoming a comedy figure. Sometime within the next 5 years, and I know the time window is a little broad, Rusev will not be an employee of World Wrestling Entertainment, mark my words. They literally even gave him the Santino spot from 2011, just to bring the foreshadowing full circle.
Um no. Cena was the one thing wrong with that match yesterday. Lesnar and Rollins KILLED it, don't let that rub interfere with what you think you saw. Cena didn't do any good in that match. He just tried to AA somebody every 15 seconds..it was so terrible. Cena no-selling for 30 minutes isn't "stepping it up" for big events.
As soon as Rusev started showing up on the main roster back in like march of last year, just cutting promos I knew he was Cena's dinner. I knew he was going go on a big unbeaten run but I didn't think it would last this long tbh.
