Should the NXT Championship be defended at WrestleMania?

Wrestlemania is theoretically the grandest stage of them all and has hosted some of the best classic encounters in WWE history.

Having an NXT title match at the event would give the developmental brand huge exposure and perhaps attract more subscribers to the network. It would also add some extra flair to the card in the form of another high stakes match.

I'd prefer keeping the NXT title away from weekly WWE television or PPVs but Wrestlemania is just different. It's special and just makes so much more sense in my head.

What are your thoughts on the matter?

I'd say no normally, but given NXT's track record as of late, I'm going to change that to a yes. But only if WWE doesn't run a Take Over special during WM weekend. I'd rather WWE represent the entire NXT roster during Mania and that seems to be the best way.

But if not, Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn would add A LOT to the card of WM31.

Or you can still do a Take over special from Santa Clara, but main event it with the Women's Championship and have a very strong undercard. Either way, NXT better have a STRONG presence during Smarkfest 2015, aka, WM weekend lol.

Maybe put it on as the preshow.

It would be good exposure (without breaking the "it's developmental, keep it off the main show" theory), would get the crowd hyped after they (say, Zayn v. Owens) kill it, and would produce a few new subscribers whenever those who don't subscribe realize what they're missing out on with NXT.

I think it'd be fine for WM, but only at WM(pre-show or something). Just like MLB All Star game has "Futures Game", NBA All Star weekend has "D-League All Star Game" and so on. This would be WWEs version of that.

NXT shouldn't ever become what ECW or anything was like(when ECW was the 3rd brand in WWE), stay how it is right now as a developmental system for WWE. That's one of the reasons why people like it so much, it's different from WWE and doesn't have a RAW/SD feel to it(in a good way)

As long as it's on the Pre-Show I find the idea sound.

WM Preshow would be fine.

I'd like to see it because I think it would be a good opportunity to showcase up-and-comers and draw some attention to NXT as a whole. However, I doubt they'd give them free reign to just go out there and put on any type of match they want. It would probably upstage most of the other matches, and if shoot interviews are to be believed, creative doesn't like it when the lower card puts on crazy matches that upstage the upper card.

As much as Zahn and Owens deserve a Wrestlemania payday, I'm gonna say no. Continuity in NXT is different than the continuity of the other shows.

I think WM needs less filler matches. It's like they want to squeeze in the whole roster on one show. Every match on WM31 should mean something and it should be an earned spot. Zayn vs Owens would be a fantastic opener if given ample time.

Hell, I'd give the entire pre-show to NXT. NXT Tag and Women's titles on the line in a two hour pre-show capped off with WM31 opening with the NXT title.

NXT deserves a presence on the card after REvolution.
