Brie Bella vs. Stephanie McMahon

Stephanie McMahon will compete in her first match in more than a decade when she answers the challenge of newly rehired former Divas Champion Brie Bella at SummerSlam.

One of the principal owners of WWE, as well as a former Women’s Champion, Stephanie reluctantly agreed to the match in exchange for Brie dropping charges of aggravated battery. The charges stemmed from a July 21 incident in which Stephanie slapped Brie, who was attending Raw as a member of the WWE Universe.

The slap, Stephanie says, was simply a response to the one Brie gave her at WWE Payback, which was the same night that the Bella Twin — facing the likely scenario of being fired by Stephanie — quit WWE. Prior to her quitting, The Authority had made clear its intentions of making life difficult for Brie and her husband, injured then-WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan.

Since WWE Payback, Bryan — whose injury was worse than originally feared — has been stripped of the title, and Stephanie has continued making life miserable for Brie by targeting those closest to her, namely twin sister Nikki. Stephanie repeatedly arranged for Nikki to compete in lopsided Handicap Matches, which invariably ended with Nikki being beaten down. Unable to continue watching her sister get placed into one disadvantageous situation after another, and offended by Stephanie’s suggestion that Brie abandoned Nikki, Brie let loose on the WWE principal owner on July 21, calling her “vindictive.”

Now that she has been forced back into action, how will Stephanie McMahon respond when she steps in the ring against Brie at SummerSlam? The Billion Dollar Princess hasn’t fought in a sanctioned bout since No Mercy 2003. Will she be prepared for the acutely focused rage of Brie and make the former Divas Champion regret ever undermining her authority? Or will Brie, finding motivation in the way Stephanie treated Nikki and Daniel Bryan, unleash a fury the likes of which we’ve never seen from her?

Don’t miss history in the making when Stephanie McMahon returns to competition against Brie Bella at SummerSlam, live on WWE Network and pay-per-view Sunday, Aug. 17, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT!

Re: Worst final segment of Raw I've ever seen

From what I remember, Steph sucked as a "wrestler" so I sure hope she's been training in the ring for this or the match will be a hot MESS. Brie isn't talented enough to carry the match.

Re: Worst final segment of Raw I've ever seen

I turned it off, nothing there to see. But yeah, probably one of the worse. Just Steph hogging more screen time as usual.
But yeah, you didn't see it but its the worst fpalm
Better than some random tag match, or a singles match ending in DQ that we always get. It was original, and top quality. Don't see why people are complaining other than having a dislike for Brie.

Re: Worst final segment of Raw I've ever seen

It was a great segment of the best storyline with the best heel in the business right now.
Lot of you marks crying about vince with his unmovable ideas about wrestling, god damn you're worse.
The midcard is red fucking hot ATM, nice to see the wwe spread the spotlight around.

Re: Worst final segment of Raw I've ever seen

It was awful but in a funny way. Both were terrible, Brie with her delivery and Steph with her fake crying, but it all mixed together perfectly and was an entertaining segment in my book. The match will hopefully be the same (since I have no hope it'll be an actual good match).

Re: Worst final segment of Raw I've ever seen

Far too many diva segments. No idea why ... they were fine with 1 segment a week and now it's almost getting to 50/50 booking. I'm all for fairness and equality, but not at the cost of quality .. and with the current crop of shit-ass divas, the overall show quality is suffering.

This segment was great ... but it was not a show-closer. The feud is good, but it's not main event calibre.

Where the fuck was Ambrose?

I love this Storyline :)

Re: Worst final segment of Raw I've ever seen

So I guess you guys are mad that we get something fresh and different. The fans were more interested in this than most of the other stories and they got great reactions. Although, Stephanie carried that segment hard.

I liked the segment. Brie actually had a convincing expression and an improving mic work, even though she need to cut down "bitch" as it is losing its effect.

Re: Worst final segment of Raw I've ever seen

Lol this is just an hyperbole from OP. It has been far worse than what happened yesterday.

Example:

I thought the segment was ok. It started off slow, but the interaction between Steph & Brie was good. I'm expecting Nikki to interfere and turn on Brie at Summerslam.

Re: Worst final segment of Raw I've ever seen

Like i said in the RAW discussion, not going to hate on the final segment at all, the segment itself was very good (pretty much all thanks to Steph, Brie is out there saying bitch and hell to get "shock" pops) And as "into it" as the crowd was, they were still chanting "Jamie Noble" at the end of it.

But in now way should that segment closed the show, the Cena/Cesaro promo/match or the Reigns beat down should've IMO.

Re: Worst final segment of Raw I've ever seen

I'll clarify that while I have no problem with divas closing a show and no problem with Stephanie McMahon, the reason I personally refused to watch the closing to last night's Raw was because it was Bella related, hence me turning it off after the Bella theme hit the first time.

I can't speak for everyone who didn't like it, but in my case its because I've never been a fan of the Bellas, nothing has ever even slightly convinced me to feel otherwise, and it has reached the point where I'd rather not see them. Since I can accept that there are those who like them as well as those who dislike them, rather than spend ages trying to change opinions to match my own I'd rather do the simple thing and simply stop watching;that is why I did what I did.

Right now I think the diva storylines aren't strong enough to close a show. I think if Paige had more development+a stronger, more resonating character and the storyline had stronger writing+a greater effect on fans, AJ and Paige could close a show. In the state they're in right now though, I can't see it happening.

I'm no fan of John Cena;I've disliked the character since 2004 and WWE hasn't changed my mind since, but I'd still place the Cena/Cesaro match at the end of the show. One, because it was tied into the Cena/Lesnar feud which is supposed to be the reason to watch Summerslam. Two, because Heyman never fails to get a raucous reaction from the audience. Three, because Cena and Cesaro's match was pretty damn good. Four, and I can't believe I'm saying this because I'm tired of Cena anyway, because the key to WWE should be entertaining its fans with wrestling at the core, rather than storylines with matches sprinkled throughout.

That's another problem I have with this Steph/Bella thing. It seems like the matches revolve around the storyline, rather than the storyline revolving around the matches.

Steph/Brie now are gonna face one another because of Brie quitting and Steph slapping her. Cesaro and Cena faced one another because Cesaro came out to defend Heyman from Cena, as Heyman was hyping Brock Lesnar, a man set to face Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Summerslam.

I want my ice cream to be wrestling-flavored with storyline sprinkles on top, not storyline-flavored ice cream with wrestling sprinkles on top.

I don't know if anyone else shares my line of thinking, but I thought I'd post it anyway so as to ensure not everyone is under the same umbrella for their reasons as to why they were turned off by last night's closure to Raw.

Re: Worst final segment of Raw I've ever seen

They're trying to get that huge Bellas fanbase to subscribe to the Network. Very smart move on their part :lmao

I'm not usually one to come here and bitch about things but some of these recent decisions have left me completely perplexed. What the hell are they trying to accomplish with this bullshit?

Re: Worst final segment of Raw I've ever seen

The segment was fun and Steph is an amazing heel. I also thought Brie did well. I like to see the WWE step out of the norm, what's wrong with shaking things up a bit? The WWE has resurrected the women's division with two scorching hot programs and instead of commending them for it people are complaining about it. The same people who usually complain about how the WWE uses their female talent.

Re: Worst final segment of Raw I've ever seen

I'm astonished by the amount of hate towards this Raw ending. For ONCE, they decide to do something different and push the females on their flagship show and you guys just shit on it. When's the last time a female feud closed the show? Trish and Lita 10 years ago?

I'm sorry Raw didn't end with Kane chokeslamming somebody.

EDIT: By the way, worst Raw ending segment I've personally ever seen was Cena humiliating Cole.

Wow females close the show I should be so happy. Despite the fact that I dislike both people in the ring and it isn't even in the top 10000000 rivalries I want to see...Do something different by doing something good...Not just a gender swap
