Edge winning in 09 was effing the GOAT chamber moment. Cena getting eliminated first really set the tone for the rest of the match.

I know this doesn't technically count but one of my most shocking EC chamber moments is when Edge cashes in the MITB. Again I know its technically doesn't fall into this question cause it was a different PPV and it was after the EC match. Out of the options I would have to say a tie between Swagger/Edge 2009

Yeah I know Bryan is an forum favorite but vote for him on this poll screams fanboy, he won a chamber match thats involved Santino Marella and Big Show as the other real options.

In hindsight Swagger winning was incredibly obvious but at the time I did not expect it at all. I definitely expected either Randy Orton or Mark Henry to win. So I voted Swagger.

Don't know why Swagger winning wasn't obvious at the time. By then the World Heavyweight title had already been relegated to IC level, which was basically the level at where Swagger and Del Rio were. Like others said, the storyline of anti-foreigner heel vs foreigner babyface was obvious.

Edge 2009 for me and by quite a distance. Even after he forced himself in the chamber there was still the thought that they just threw him in so Cena beats someone with star power instead of jobbers Mike Knox, Kofi, Kane and Jericho who had been jobbing to Cena for eternity and had no credibility left.

And to the OP, Triple H 2009 wasn't obvious because they still had some resemblance of the brand extension. Triple H was still on SD and Orton on Raw. They didn't really start feuding until after No Way Out.

In fact No Way Out 2009 has got to be one of the most unpredictable PPVs of all time. Everyone thought that WM would be Cena vs Orton and Triple H vs Edge. The fact that they managed to switch it around was quite ingenious.

Surely I can't be the only one who actually expected Swagger to win last year. A feud between his new Glenn Beck-esque gimmick and the "Mexican Aristocrat" was natural.

If anything I was surprised by Daniel Bryan's win. It was obvious up to that point they had no intention of making him into a credible WHC. I figured they'd have someone else win and he wouldn't even be on WM.

I am going with a limited pool of exposure here, since I didn't actually watch wrestling from mid-2000 until mid-2011.

Edge in 09 gets my vote.
What this guy said. Swagger winning was telegraphed at least a month in advance. The Zeb Coulter thing gave him a lot of momentum and it was for the WHC title shot at WrestleMania, with Mexican star Del Rio being the champion and the logical opponent to play up the Immigration angle.

No way Swagger should win this poll. Everyone predicted he would win.

Edge came out of nowhere in 2009.

Edge because he wasn't even scheduled to compete in that match. He lost his Elimination Chamber match in the opener of the show, runs into another Elimination Chamber match that night, attacks a superstar from behind, and enters himself into the match. Who would have have expected that? And even with him him in the match I still expected Super Cena to overcome the odds but I was also shocked when he was the third eliminated. One of the GOAT Chamber moments!

Might be the only one but I predicted Swagger to win last year, so him winning didn't exactly come as a surprise to me. They wouldn't have brought him back from such a long absence if they didn't have big plans for him. Him vs. Del Rio was pretty much the only possible match that actually made sense and I knew WWE would go with that. Swagger was given a new gimmick, a new theme, a new booking, and a new manager that kept bashing illegal immigrants and praising America. Del Rio would always defend his Mexican heritage and say he was born there but made in America. WWE did two similar Mexican champion vs. American challenger programs with Eddie vs. Angle/JBL in 2004 and they probably wanted to replicate it or something. But I can see why people would have been surprised with Swagger winning since the Elimination Chamber participants read main eventer against main eventer against main eventer against main eventer against main eventer against... Swagger.
