Anyone who doesn't say Edge in 09 is lying... No one had any idea that was going to happen. Once he'd taken Kofi out and put himself into the match it was fairly anticipated, especially once he pinned Cena. But before that no one saw it coming. Probably not even Kofi himself the poor guy. It was a swerve Russo would be proud of.

The most surprising for me wasn't at No Way Out, or Elimination Chamber, but was the elimination chamber match at Summerslam 2003. I thought that it was Goldberg's night - the crowds were really behind him it seemed his time. Winning it at a B-PPV (Unforgiven) was lame. He should've blasted through Triple H like a goddamn missile. Triple H was recovering from leg surgery at the time - which makes you wonder why they kept the title on him. While he was recovering, Goldberg should've been champ, I think. Triple H was wrestling at half steam that year. He looked like he didn't care.

Edge in 09 gets my vote.

Has to be Edge... considering he wasn't even supposed to be in the match.
It doesn't matter if it was obvious once the push started, it's shocking that they decided on him to even GET the push. Look at where the fuck he was when he left tv. I'm STUNNED they put him back in a role like that.

Read the list of Chamber winners. It reads main eventer, main eventer, main eventer, main eventer, main eventer, JACK SWAGGER.

Also, if you're gonna talk about obvious, when Edge's title match was the first match on the show, and he was the first one eliminated, you KNEW something was gonna happen.

We can't believe that someone with your skin color has the level of education that you have, so your gimmick is just gonna be that we put you on tv and brag that you went to school. Cause that's basically the gimmick that they gave him, how much more racist could his gimmick have been? Am I missing something here? What was the reason that the people were supposed to get behind him, other than the company just saying "phht, well, he's...in school".

I actually though Edge in 2011 was a bit of a shock. After Del Rio won the Rumble,I thought they would go with Del Rio v Rey at Mania to bring that feud to a final close for the belt. I was even more sure when Rey and Edge were the last two remaining.

Dunno if it's also me but I thought Lawler kinda spoiled something about Edge happening.

Just before the second EC match, all of a sudden, Lawler said something like "Oh, and I'm interesting what Edge has to say after losing the title earlier."

I expected him to be a part of the PPV in some way after that.

Swagger got my vote, btw.

For me, neither Swagger or Edge in 2009 surprised me when they won. With Swagger, the addition of Colter and the anti-immigrant gimmick made it clear he was gonna challenge ADR. While Edge in 2009 surprised me when he entered the match, once he did it was obvious he was winning.

Punk retaining surprised me because it was pretty much guaranteed Bryan was going to retain so I wasn't expecting both champs to successfully defend their belts. I thought Jericho was going to win and then Punk would get his rematch at Wrestlemania. Jericho winning would've given him the momentum and really make him look like an obstacle for Punk.

Yea Swagger was obvious. He came back as a heel with a subtly racist/xenophobic gimmick with a mouthpiece when ADR was turned face.
Of course he was going to win.

Bryan retaining in 2012 was interestingly surprising to me, in hindsight. Can't really comment on any between 2008-2011.
