Re: Elimination Chamber 2014 Match Card Predictions
After reading tonight's SmackDown tapings, combined with last night's RAW, here's my card for what I would personally want to happen at EC:Kick-Off Show
Some kind of multi-team tag match with the winner getting a future tag title shot. Usos, please!
6-Man Tag Team Match
The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family
Pretty self-explanatory here. After what we saw on RAW, and what we will see on SmackDown, this is a matchup fans have salivating for, and it will finally happen. Due to current reports of what's happening in the future and beyond, The Wyatts should win, making them look very strong heading into their WM program with Cena, and something happening in this match that fractures the relationship of The Shield, permanently.
WINNERS: The Wyatt Family
AJ Lee (C) vs. Naomi
The fact that we didn't see this at Royal Rumble may be a blessing, because it now means we get more buildup for this feud featuring two of my current favorite Divas. Naomi has looked strong in terms of booking on TV recently, but she's just not quite ready yet to be champion. I believe she'll put on a good show, but AJ will still walk away with the title.
When you have the most popular Diva in years, who happens to be the current longest-reigning Divas champ, AND it's this close to WrestleMania, she can't drop it, not yet. Maybe Tamina turns on her, and it's AJ vs. Tamina at WrestleMania. My dream scenario for WM would be AJ/Lita, or AJ/Stephanie, but I doubt that will happen.
WINNER (and STILL champion): AJ Lee
WWE Tag Team Championship
The New Age Outlaws (C) vs. The Brotherhood (I still don't like that name. Prefer Rhodes Brothers instead.)
Obviously, due to Brock Lesnar coming in and wrecking shit, we did not see a definitive conclusion to this match. And by the looks of what happened on SmackDown, it looks like these two teams are on yet another collision course.
With reports/hopes that this will be the year that we will see Cody vs. Goldie at WM, expect not only NAO to retain, but for one of the brothers to turn on each other, leading at last to a Brother vs. Brother clash at the Showcase of the Immortals.
WINNERS (and STILL champions): New Age Outlaws
WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Triple Threat Match
Randy Orton (C) vs. Batista vs. Brock Lesnar
With the conundrum that Paul Heyman presented Brad Maddox with on RAW, what with Brock's apparent #1 contender's status still up in the air, I feel the A-show's GM should make this decision instead. Yes, this will piss off not just Brock, but Batista as well, since he did win the Royal Rumble. (DANIEL BRYAN SHOULD HAVE WON THE RUMBLE, YOU FUCKING FUCKERS)
Now, as I was saying, with Orton having as long a run he has had, and with it being the last hurdle on the Road to WrestleMania, I think Orton should keep the strap. I know there needs to be a blow off for Batista/ADR, but no one gives two squirts of duckshit about that, since they know Batista's gonna squash ADR anyway. Move that shit to a RAW and just instead do Orton/Batista/Brock as a Triple Threat, and have someone else take Orton's spot in the Chamber, making that one a #1 contender's match. Think of this as the OVW dream match minus John Cena.
Orton wins, Batista finds a way to keep his WM spot, and Brock moves on to Undertaker at Mania. You should book Orton pinning Batista, leading to Batista wanting to stake his claim at 'Mania, while still preserving Brock.
WINNER (and STILL champion): Randy Orton
The Miz vs. Bad News Barrett
It's been teased briefly during SmackDown last week, and Miz's reactionary promo to it. Can be used as a cool down match between the two main events. I'm putting this match in this specific spot because I like AJ/Naomi, I love the fact they're getting a program for the title, and I want them to have as memorable a match as possible, which is why they should be featured earlier in the show. Also..... I kinda don't give a fuck who wins this match.
WINNER: Eh, give it to Miz.
Elimination Chamber Match
Winner becomes #1 contender for WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXX: John Cena vs. Sheamus vs. Christian vs. Antonio Cesaro vs. CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan
Now, due to the ending we saw on RAW, and we now know after reading the results from the SmackDown tapings, it appears that Orton will defend the title(s. Seriously, Orton; just carry around one fucking belt already) against Cena, Sheamo, Cesaro, Christian and D-Bry.
And due to what's happened in recent weeks, especially during the Rumble, it appears a CM Punk vs Kane match is the next logical step. However, I'm a little bothered that Punk is not in the Chamber match. Not saying this cause I'm a Punk fan, but because it could have provided one last Authority screwjob on Punk, pissing him off to the point where he wants to face HHH at 'Mania.
Why not, since Orton's slot would be open in the aforementioned hypothetical Triple Threat, have the winner of an additional Chamber Qualifier (Punk vs. Kane, which Punk obviously wins) take Orton's spot, and makes this now a #1 contender's match, with the winner facing the World Champion in the final match of WrestleMania XXX.
I remember this kind of shake up for a PPV 2 years back when they took Punk out of the Survivor Series Elimination Match and put him in the Triple Threat against Ryback and Cena. Why can't they do something like this again?
And you could book this one so clear cut: Cesaro, Sheamus and Christian give a great effort, but fall short; some kind of fuckery happens with the Wyatts that costs Cena the match, leading to Cena vs. Bray at WM; and HHH could screw Punk in the Chamber match, leading to their match at WM.
That leaves just one person left... Daniel Bryan.
I gotta think that this whole thing of keeping Bryan out of the Rumble, and the machine trying keep the underdog fan favorite down, while legit pissing off A LOT of people (including Mick fucking Foley of all people), might have been one giant work all along. So, with the possible scenarios I just laid out, this would have to be leading to none other than Daniel Bryan winning this Chamber match, and him having his big moment without him winning the title quite yet before his date with destiny at the biggest show in World Wrestling Entertainment's history.
WINNER (and #1 contender to face the World Champion at WrestleMania XXX):
Yes... Yes... Yes...
