When I read the spoilers, I was so sad and disappointed that there was no Finn involvement.
But, I guess they did the right thing.
The main event was killer and would have overshadowed Finn's debut.
One of the best booked matches in recent memory with both Styles and Reigns showing great chemistry and Attitude-eraish run ins by general managers and cronies.
Not really. It really did not make sense for him to come out at Payback. I really did want to see him but it would've made no sense. He's probably debuting tonight.
Not really. I mean, I’m anticipating his debut but I wasn’t waiting on the edge of my seat for him to come out. I was too busy enjoying the main event.
lol Yeah, there is always an element that predict the same thing for every tv show and PPV for months and when it finally happens claim to be an all-knowing Wrestling Guru :smile2:
I wasn't particularly expecting Finn at Payback, I was just expecting SOMETHING. A Bullet Club turn, a No Contest brought on by Wyatt intervention ... but nope.
Shame. As PPV's go, this was solid in the wrestling department.
The booking ... gah.
Well, yeah. His losing the title was a possible sign that he was jumping to RAW, but the hype was ALL fan-made.
I don't think the WWE hinted at him debuting on RAW at all, at least not to my recollection.
Anyone who has seen any of Balor in NXT shouldn't want him anywhere near the Main roster, let alone the Main Event. If HHH would just come to his sense the guy should be a jobber at best with how awful and lazy he has been in NXT.
Not necessarily, I think it was better to lay off debuting Balor and make it unexpected when he finally does. It also still opens lots of possibilities with which way the Reigns/Styles feud goes, it also keeps the fans invested a while longer.
However, with Balor still having the rematch with Joe for the NXT title, probably at Takeover:Revenge, I don't see him debuting at Extreme Rules if he indeed debuts as a heel on the main roster. But I would still expect him to be a heel and join with Anderson & Gallows and go ahead and feud with AJ after his call-up after Takeover:Revenge.
I was a little at first but then watching Raw I realize how hot the AJ/Roman saga is getting and am happy they're continuing their program for another few weeks. They need to build to this whole idea of AJ wanting it on his own and Anderson and Gallows get pissed and have enough of his consistent refusals for assistance. Payback was too soon to debut Balor and make it all about him. It would have been Russo-esque AE booking to just have this NXT alumni waltzing out in his face paint to cost AJ the title after only a few weeks of these guys arriving on the scene. By Extreme Rules they still have more time to develop the story and by then perhaps we can see some Balor/Bullet Club action with Roman Reigns starting a fresh feud as well.
