Bret didnt care at all. he was just there doing nothing and you can tell he was so bored and uncomfortable and for some strange reason he was smiling a lot, it was so for some strange reason.
As bad as Ric is at least he is trying to be a heel and once in a while he yells at the crowd and supports Charlotte but Nattie was all alone last night.
Bret should have never been at Payback in the first place IMO.
As TheGeneticFreak stated, Bret said before the PPV he didn't even want to be there. He just looked out of place during the match, and even struggled to get the sharpshooter on at the end.

It did seem more about getting to the Sharpshooter spot rather than the two women having a big title match TBH. Bret did say he was only there to support Natty, so he was honest about it beforehand.

Yeah, I don't get why they're still obsessed with the screwjob; beating a dead horse at this point. The well has run dry. It was a scandalous and historic moment but it's 2016 now.
He had no enthusiasm at all, from the entrance all the way through until the end of the match. The finish was garbage, too. He did make it clear that he was only there for Nattie's sake anyway.
I understand Hart had surgery recently but it looked like he could barely walk. For a few moments I didn't think he would get the sharpshooter on Flair either. He looked out of place and didn't seem to want to be there at all.

The bigger question is why wasn't Jim there instead. Yeah, he's a little off his game lately but I'm sure he could pull it together for 15 minutes. Fro his own daughter for crying out loud.

Yeah, forgot he was even there for a while. Ric is on-screen with Charlotte every time while Bret only appears once for a Montreal screw job rehash. Ric probably gets in a few drinks before the show while Bret is still wobbly from surgery. Can't really compare the two in terms of enthusiasm.
He admitted that he didn't want to be there but I don't think he intentionally sandbagged his appearance. Bret was just there to support Natty and I don't think he appreciated the obnoxious "we want Sasha" chants shortly into the match. Not to mention he just had prostate cancer surgery a couple of months ago. I was just happy to see him at all.
Bret is also still recovering from Prostate Cancer too TBH, in addition to his already limited mobility, i was surprised he did anything physical TBH. I guess it was expected with Flair there, that seemed to be the main point of it all. He was there for Nattie and that was that.
WWE's fault for the way they booked the whole thing really.
He does one appearance like every two years. Lame that for 15 minutes he can't just act like he's having a good time.
He really has turned into a grumpy old man. Still one of the best wrestlers of all time - but also one of the best complainers/unpleasant to work with person as well.
Yeah, when he was walking to the ring with Natalya I actually thought I saw him sigh! He looked bored as fuck, even when Natalya attempted or even locked in the sharpshooter not even a smile. Natalya shoulda brought her Dad instead.
