Rhodes vs. Sandow...Makes No Sense!

How many times in the last two weeks have we heard Michael Cole say "Sandow stole the briefcase from Cody."? How many times have we heard Cole say something like that and imply Sandow cheated to win. Last time I checked, there were was only one rule in a MITB Ladder match...there are all no rules! But yet WWE is trying to make it seem like that Sandow cheated to win, when noting of the sort happened.

I get it, they are best friends and Sandow did stab him in the back. But the fact that Rhodes just straight up attacked Sandow the next night on Raw didn't make Rhodes look sympathetic like he was the night before. It makes him look like nothing but a sore loser.

What they should have done (and I know I'm going to come as a know it all) is have Rhodes continue to stand beside Sandow as his best friend and protector of the case. Sandow would continually run Rhodes down. Sandow loses a match, It's Rhodes fault, even if it wasn't and so and so forth until one day Rhodes snaps and then we get to see them feud.

I know WWE wanted to build this up quickly for Summerslam but it's hurting what could have been a much better story.

What do you think?

I won't be surprised if the crowd turns on Cody and starts sympathizing with Sandow.

He won the match fair and square.

I thought the same, then I just thought "fuck it" and now I'm really enjoying the feud. It's not like Cody is the first ever jerk babyface.

Sandow is brilliant in his role too, he makes it impossible for the fans to show any sympathy for him.

I realise where they're going and that WWE will push Roman Reigns straight to the top. However for me, Dean Ambrose is by far the most talented in that group and I think eventually if they just give him the spotlight then he's going to shine. As soon as he touches a mic everyone else can just sit down as he's magic on it. So It remains to be seen, I think they're all talented but to me Dean was the star of that group. I think Roman looks like the star of that group but I don't think he's nearly as talented as Dean.

Agreed. All the segments they had together on Smackdown this week made me go from not really caring for the feud, to being quite into it and enjoying it.

Don't get me wrong guys, I LOVED the stuff they did on SD. Both Rhodes and Sandow were hilarious (mostly Sandow). But that doesn't change the story leading in to that. Just saying this could have been much better.

And for the bold, it's not so much he's a jerk babyface. That I could handle. It's the fact that he looks like a sore loser just coming out and attacking Sandow. He can be as cocky as he wants, but that doesn't change the fact he lost fair and square in match w/ no rules.

Well, if I was literally shoved off a ladder from my best friend because he wanted to win the match himself, I'd be pretty pissed. Especially if he told me to my face that he would be happy for me if I won. It's not being a sore loser, its realizing your "best friend" was a piece a shit the whole time. Not to mention Sandow tried to make him the "keeper of the case" which deserves another beating. Cody seems justified from my POV.

Edit: Not to mention same thing happened with Punk/Heyman. Should Punk not be mad because there were no DQ's? I sure think he should be.

Being happy for Cody if he won doesn't mean handing him the win if he can win it himself. It's EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF. I'm sure Sandow would've rather had Cody win than any of the other guys if he couldn't get there himself, but if he's right there, with a chance to win, and he doesn't take it then he shouldn't even be a participant. Your goal is to WIN the match, it's not to hand the win over to your best friend.

If you can't understand such a SIMPLE concept as "every man for himself", that's pretty damn sad.

I guess it was Sandows job to do the dishonorable thing and double team everyone with Cody, and then let Cody CHEAT to win by enlisting his best friends help. Yes, that would be much better than winning in a completely legal manner according to the rules. How dare that Sandow, he BETRAYED Cody by following the rules of the match and winning with his head held high in an honourable fashion.

Cody is acting like such a little bitch in this feud. It wouldn't shock me if the next segment with Cody in it is him trying to cut his wrists in his dressing room while My Chemical Romance plays in the background.

What everyone really wants for Christmas:

Re: Rhodes vs. Sandow...Makes No Sense!

Guess you haven't read next week's spoilers yet.

Spoiler for spoiler:
Josh Mathews interviewed Cody about tossing Damien Sandow's MITB briefcase in the water "last week." Cody said he would have done the same thing Sandow did at MITB, but he got tired of Sandow talking down to him. Sandow then jumped him from behind.

Sandow was indeed trying to downplay Cody's role in their team although he called him his best friend. Cody was never seen the way Sandow was during their run as a tag team, the latter would always hog more of the spotlight. In the weeks leading to the PPV, he was doing things like cutting Cody off whenever he had a mic in his hands (he even did it at the PPV before their match iir), taking the lead and having Cody play second fiddle to him all the time, (take his feud with Sheamus for instance, Sandow would make Cody the scapegoat and have him eat the Brogue kicks all the time just to make sure he gets out of the situation safely), etcetera etcetera. And after what Sandow did at the end of the MITB match by sneaking in after Cody did all the hard work, Cody had had enough of it, so he just let it all out. Don't see how it doesn't make sense.

I felt sorry for Sandow on Smackdown this week, you're not supposed to be feel sorry for the heel.

It's nothing new in WWE. That when a bad guy does something, commentators/fans don't like what they did because it was bad. But if a good guy does the same thing, commentators/fans act like it's funny and good that he did it.
