Sheamus compared to Orton - relevance wise?

I get it - Orton is (problably) being punished for his 2-nd Wellness Policy violation. He is stuck in a limbo of some kind for almost two years. I understand he's irrelevant, despite the fact he's the most over individual on the WWE roster, currently.

It's almost certain that at Wrestlemania, we'll have Orton, Sheamus and The Big Show vs. The Shield. My prediction - Orton turns heel at Mania, after losing this match, by RKO-ing Sheamus and/or The Big Show. But that's not the point of this thread.

My point is - what's up with Sheamus? After losing the WHC to The Big Show, he's also pretty much irrelevant, just like Randy Orton is. Is he also punished for something, or it's just the WWE creative's fault for his current position in the company?

However, he's far more superior than Orton - Orton is losing way too many matches, clean.

This made me thinking - is Orton really in this position because he's been punished for the violation, or just WWE creative team has nothing good planned for him? If he's being punished, what's the deal with The Celtic Warrior?

Another thought - is the team of Orton and Sheamus a tag-team championship material, regarding the near/distant future?

p.s. Celtic Viper tag-team name sucks.

The whitest guy in WWE teams up with the tannest and oiliest guy in WWE. Nice.

Maybe "Tan Baby Oil" would be a good tag team name for them.

Why the fuck are they even teaming together? Isn't Randy supposed to be some crazy dude who doesn't trust anybody?

Doesn't Sheamus want to fight everybody? Whatever, I just hope they don't go over The Shield at WM.

You answered your own question. The reason they are doing nothing is because the creative and Vince are brain-dead idiots that can't think of anything good.

And tbh, Orton is losing a lot less nowadays. Ever since Survivor Series, his clean losses have been very few, including one to Wade Barrett which he's undone by beating him about 10 more times, one to Mark Henry which he redeemed in the Elimination Chamber and the chamber match itself. But he's being more protected now. If it was Jack Swagger being pushed 6 months ago, they'd probably have him beat Orton by the Ankle Lock, but now they had him cheat and win by a roll-up.

Exactly. At Survivor Series they hammered home the fact that Orton hated everyone on his team and that he was pretty much the loner. Now suddenly we get into 2013 and he's constantly running out to save his Super-Face buddies (of whom he has either a bad history or no history with) without any real rhyme or reason.

Re: Sheamus, compared to Orton - relevance wise?

It's a combo of they getting both punished and getting second rate creative booking, Orton for his second strike and Sheamus for failing at being Cena 2.0(not his fault) on Smackdown and creative well you know remember when Rhode Scholars broke just to return and getting directly into an angle of they breaking up fucking again, if you ignore Rhode Scholars infinite jobbing even they are getting more quality booking e_e

Why must people think they're being punished? There's a chance that they're teaming together so, oh I don't know, they can set up a feud when Orton TURNS on him??? So much other important feuds are already set and you can't always have big plans for everybody. Feuding against a hot act like Shield is a good deal to me anyway.

better than the best.

Re: Sheamus, compared to Orton - relevance wise?

As a huge Sheamus fan (favorite good guy except for maybe Del Rio), to me there's a real life battle between Orton and Sheamus to be the #2 babyface. I basically cheer against Randy Orton not just because he's boring and can't tell a story, but also so because WWE needs Del Rio and Sheamus to be their guy instead of Randy.

WWE favorites: Punk, Sheamus, Lesnar, Ambrose, Rollins, Reigns,
Del Rio, Orton, Bryan, Ziggler, Wyatt, Usos, Cesaro, Mysterio, Kane
DGPW: Doi, Yoshino, Tozawa, Yamato, Dragon Kid, BxB Hulk, Ricochet, Super Shisa
NJPW: Okada, Nakamura, Styles ROH: Briscoes, Fish and O'Reilly, Young Bucks
All-Time: Rock, Punk, Lesnar, Angle
