Re: Should Daniel Bryan be pushed as the top guy on Smackdown after WM29?
You guys are missing the point with Daniel Bryan. Yeah he's over, but not because of his in ring skills. Bryan is getting solid reactions because of his buffoonish, ridiculous, paranoid character based on his Yes-No chants. Fans are reacting to him because they like to play off of him. You guys won't like to accept this but Daniel Bryan is a comedic act for the WWE, just like Santino is and the way Charlie Haas was. And there's nothing wrong with that because that leads to more television time and merchandise sales. Let's be honest here: the package the IWC sold with Daniel Bryan didn't work -- he needed a gimmick and a look for him to get a reaction and that's what happened.
I see Daniel Bryan has a solid mid-carder who now can get solid reactions. Remember when he would come out, stick his finger in the year (to signal #1) and get zero reaction? That was a plain, boring Daniel Bryan. Like KO said Daniel Bryan's whole character is based on comedy and for me it's not that funny. His character is just buffoonish.
Most importantly you guys need to realize that the way you see Daniel Bryan is different from how the WWE universe does. Need proof? Daniel Bryan won 3 internet slammy awards, yet came up empty with the live vote on WWE App. The IWC was clearly voting for the WWE.com awards, but the IWC got outvoted in a big way when all the fans were voting.
