This Friday in his home city of Miami, The People’s Champion will step inside a SmackDown ring for the first time in 10 years. For the first time in a decade, The Rock returns to “his” show!

When WWE looked to debut the blue brand back in 1999, they wisely chose to mold their newest incarnation in the image of The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment by naming the show after his explosive catchphrase, “Layeth the SmackDown!”

Now, one week before SmackDown celebrates its 700 episode, The Rock will make a rare appearance. It comes just 16 days before The Brahma Bull will battle WWE Champion CM Punk one-on-one for the WWE Title at Royal Rumble on Jan. 27. Could the dangerous Straight Edge Superstar look to destroy his legendary competition prior to their pay-per-view showdown?

Or might The Shield – who WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon still suspects to be in cohoots with Punk and who proved to be the difference in the champion’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs Title Match against Ryback on Raw – dare to attempt to ambush the seven-time WWE Champion, the way they have done to so many Superstars?

It’s also a distinct possibility that other SmackDown competitors, such as World Heavyweight Champion Big Show, Sheamus or Randy Orton, may have something to say to The Great One.

Find out if The Rock with indeed Layeth the SmackDown, this Friday at 8/7 CT on Syfy!

Re: Another Rock SD Apperance

Rock concert plz.

Obviously that won't happen, but I'll definitely be watching the Smackdown shows that The Rock is apart of.

Awesome stuff, Smackdown should be getting decent ratings then. Furthermore, they should ALL be live Smackdowns if they want any real jump in numbers.

Excellent news. Finally excited to actually watch a WWE show after 7 months of indifference. Damn, time has flied fast! The nightmare that is Phil is almost over now.

FINALLY!............. a reason to watch Smackdown.

I see it's in Sacramento, man, that brings back some good memories.

They should show segments of that concert throughout the night. :Rock

:rock4 The Rock in Sacramento

The Great One really is trying to go all out this year isn't he, another Smackdown Appearance, I guess its their way off trying to extend The build for Rumble, instead of 3-4 segments on just Raw we'll get another 2-3 from Smackdown to make a longer build for the title match.

Re: Another Rock SD Appearance

For what it's worth, I note USA Network simply have Law and Order marathons on Tuesday's with new White Collar at 10pm (Syfy have original programming from 7:30pm onwards). Pretty sure if WWE asked USA to put The Rock/SmackDown's live they would do it in a flash.

Great news.
