Is There Something Wrong With Orton?

he didn't appear on the RAW yesterday. And apparently he is not advertised to appear on Smackdown either (and Cena will replace him). Hurt? Time Off? Family Emregency? Or dare I say it he got caught blazing/bulking it up again?

He probably just took the week off and the way things are going, he could easily take the next few weeks off since it appears that creative has nothing for him to do at the moment. Orton is one of those wrestlers that the WWE can call at the last minute and give him a random match on RAW or Smackdown if they so choose and right now, it looks like that's about all is planned for Orton. Giving him a bit of time off to recharge is never a bad idea either, since Orton is one of the top superstars still.

I thought he was going to face Barrett at TLC, but apparently that won't happen now. Hopefully 2013 sees a heel turn for Orton, and a push back to the WWE/World Title picture.

Hes not as big as he used to be,rewind over a year ago he was like the 2nd biggest face after Cena, now he's the fourth biggest after Ryback and the second biggest Smackdown face after Sheamus.Hence why hes been in meaningless storylines and honestly I don't see that changing any time soon, unless Sheamus turns heel and/or they pull the plug on Ryback.

He's been borderline getting buried lately. Been forced to job to even Wade Barret of all people. . .multiple times. He's even received tapout losses.

WWE seems to have greatly soured on him, and it's not just now happening. It's been going on for at least two months now, maybe longer. Pretty big waste of his talents imo. On a show with an extremely watered down talent pool, you'd think they'd want to make better use of a guy like Orton.

They probably have yet no idea what to do with him right now. He should turn Heel, but the lack of faces in Smackdown is the main reason why they are avoiding pulling the trigger.

I've said it before, draft Ryback to Smackdown and Orton to RAW where he can turn Heel. Maybe a Daniel Bryan face turn+push is in the horizon as well, or even a returning Face Mark Henry could fill the gap, so it would balance things out.

Ryback still needs a little molding to be a top face, and being on Smackdown maybe with even a WHC reign for a while would do him good, and Orton could finally do what he does best by far, which is being a top Heel.

Yeah i like that idea. but Vince would never put Ryback back on smackdown right now, he's got way too much of a hard on for him to put him on the B show. Vince doesn't care about smackdown, how could he masturbate to Ryback if Ryback was on a show he doesn't watch?
