How's that working out for them?
Yeah WWE is seriously paying for their network, and not in a good way.

Re: Official WWE Main Event Weekly TV Show Discussion

I'm calling that a clean enough win, turn buckle wasn't exposed on purpose, and Punk barley pulled on the trunks, more put his hand in the general region just as the ref hit three, and Sheamus wasn't clearly knocked out. Hell, if Cena looked at the exposed turn-buckle and did a goodfy smile to the camera we'd have to think that he was playing smart. In the end, if you aren't cheating you aren't trying.

Good match though, if they try and keep this up it could be really good.

Re: Official WWE Main Event Weekly TV Show Discussion

I'll be surprised if Main-Event lasts for two full years honestly. Their track record with 3rd tier shows is pretty bad. ECW, NXT and Superstars were cancelled from networks due to poor ratings. This will be just like all of those other shows. It will start out good, then it will become another jobber show, people will stop watching, and the network will stop paying them.

That isn't what happened. ECW didn't get cancelled. They changed it to NXT. NXT was dropped by SyFy after the latter picked up Smackdown. It was more of a "We don't want to have multiple wrestling shows" decision, since NXT was their highest rated show (as ECW was prior to it).

Superstars dropped because the contract expired and the WWE didn't bother to try and renew it. They thought they had their WWE Network launching fairly soon, and they were going to toss Superstars onto it. They'd also planned to toss NXT onto the network, which is why they didn't really try to find someplace else to put it.

None of those shows failed due to ratings.

Re: Official WWE Main Event Weekly TV Show Discussion

Champion vs Champion match bored me tbh i really enjoyed the 5 minutes of the tag match and Kidd/Gabriel i could watch these two all day.Surprised Ryder/santino got the win as clearly kidd/Gabriel have great chemistry and are exciting to watch.

ECW was cancelled and replaced with NXT in an attempt to make Sci-Fi happy since ECW continuously had low ratings. You are right about NXT being replaced for SD, but in reality NXT was more than likely going to get cancelled anyway. In theory they just did the same thing over. Replace a failing show with another show.

WGN dropped Superstars because of it's declining ratings. Superstars was moved online, then dropped because low viewing.

Re: Official WWE Main Event Weekly TV Show Discussion

Both matches were decent, though, I don't get why Punk vs Sheamus was the opening match; I mean, there were two videos and even backstage segments before the match, wtf? "All of it was too clustered".

Nothing wrong with the dirty finish, good idea to have one.
The trunks were unnecessary, though.

===
Anyways, tag match was good, but it's too bad that they really have no interest in having Kidd and Gabriel as legit competitors.

Main Event: Sheamus didn't sell the tights being pulled

He didn't kick out his legs at all and just laid there like a sack of shit. It made it look like he lost clean to me. To me that's as good as a botch cuz they made a big deal about Punk cheating. i swear since i started watching wrestling as a little kid it's the first time i've seen this messed up and by the #2 face of the wwe no less. good job sheamus. heel pins face with a handful of trunks while the face kicks his legs like crazy to show he would have kicked out if not for tights being held. how do you fuck that up?
