Rhodes and Sandow.

Do you see them lasting very long as a tag team and maybe even winning the tag titles? or are they going to be fed to Kane and Bryan and break up after that?

Re: Newly formed tag team.

They're gonna win the tag titles at HIAC and Kane and Bryan will explode.

I don't fucking like this, this could kill Sandow. I know WWE's philosophy, every tag team needs one guy they push the shit of and one guy who they just fucking bury beyond belief, and I honestly don't know who it's gonna be. It looks like they're higher on Sandow so far but I don't think they'd play Cody Rhodes like that since he's got the 3'rd generation thing going for him and he's been a former IC champ for fucking ever. It's 50/50. I'm not comfortable. Unless Triple H has forced them to completely change their philosophy on tag teams, one of these two are dead when this are over. If that's Cody, great, he deserves to be the one since Sandow is too good to fail, but I'm not convinced. They should've just teamed him with somebody who we know is screwed already.

Heel tag teams are good way to get established with the fans. See: Edge and Christian.

Re: Newly formed tag team.

Sandow/Rhodes will be a good temporarily tag team. In the end they probably lose, go their separate ways & Hell No will face PTP or Rey/Cara (whoever wins that feud).

Re: Newly formed tag team.

They'll probably have a steady run, but end up non compatible anymore and break up like DB and Kane may do down the line. Sandow and Cody may just do it a lot sooner. Sandow has been on a nice steady booking line, and this just gives him something to do which is good for him.

Re: Newly formed tag team.

I see Rhodes/Sandow lasting about as long as the Dashing Ones (Drew/Cody).

Team Friendship, however, is going to last a long time.

Re: Newly formed tag team.

Maybe they won't be affected by the "tag team curse" as they're not a real team, they are just two guys that have been together because neither guy has anything going on right now. They will probably quietly break up and carry on their singles careers after Hell No beat them at HIAC.

They have invested a lot of time in both, I think both will become main event heels. One will only fail if WWE let them, it's not company policy to have one guy sink and one guy swim, it's just circumstance.

I didn't want this team, but now it's happened I'll just try my best to enjoy it. They have 5 weeks to build up the feud with Bryan and Kane until HIAC, I assume they will be on both shows so that's 10 shows, they can do a lot of good stuff together in that time.

Oh and a slightly off topic note: How great was Sandow's shirt? What an absolute BOSS of a man he is, "You did this to yourselves!" cracked me up.

Re: Newly formed tag team.

There are no faces for them to feud with and neither was going to be elevated to the WHC level anytime soon, so why not? It's a temporary alliance that won't affect either of their singles careers. Neither is turning face or getting buried afterward, they'll simply stop tagging together regularly.

Re: Newly formed tag team.

This tag team could either KILL Sandow/Rhodes, or push them to places they've never been before.

Someone give me SANDOW'S SHIRT. NOW!

Re: Newly formed tag team.

I think they're only a temporary tag team, like for HIAC, then they'll split back up. not exactly stupid either. They'll be entertaining for 6 weeks, do a good PPV, then they'll split up and continue to be pushed hopefully.

and yeah, sandow's shirt was awesome. glad everyone else noticed it.

Re: Newly formed tag team.

they want Team Hell No to have legit first contender for them. And PTP & Rey/Cara have their own feud to deal with. Unless you wanted to see Kane/Bryan vs Primo/Epico or Gabriel/Kidd (they are good just not believable for THN) or The Usos (love them but see Gabriel/Kidd)

Re: Newly formed tag team.

Sandow will finally get a PPV match is the most important thing here. I am not worried about his singles career here. I expect it to continue well enough after this tag team

Re: Newly formed tag team.

If they were going to pair Sandow with anyone it should have been David Otunga. David is a graduate of Harvard, and Sandow is playing that of an intellectual. Who better than Otunga to identify with Sandow on a more intellectual level? Those two would be the best heel tag team in a long time. They could call themselves "The Intellectual Alliance". Cody Rhodes should be no where near Sandow, and if anything Rhodes should be a "face' with Sandow as his foe.

Sandow would call Cody Rhodes white trash, and say that his family's moral concepts are obviously lacking due to the unfortunate turn out of Goldust. Cody's lisp could be something that Sandow could poke fun at, and say that it's just another blemish on the Rhodes genetic makeup, but that's not hard to see figuring their father was "The American Dream". Fans would easily get behind Cody, and I think Cody is due a face turn.

Re: Newly formed tag team.

Meh no worries Pyro. Sandows too good for his career to fail. And + HHH likes him. That gets you places (see Sheamus). They can team up untill a face holds the Intercontinental TItle. Only for Sandow to beat him and becomse our brand-new Intercontinental Champion.

Re: Newly formed tag team.

I don't really like this. Sandow's too good to be held down in a tag team, especially with someone so mediocre like Rhodes. Sandow's character is a unique one that shines on his own and he won't be as great when he has to share the spotlight with someone else. In my opinion, WWE have enough tag teams right now and they're building the division nicely, I just don't think they need to make another team in Rhodes and Sandow. The fact that Sandow and Rhodes have already lost match in the past, with Rhodes taking the pin, makes me think why would they continue to team up, but that's WWE for you... They're lazy so they think ''we can't think of anything to do with these guys, let's stick them in a tag team so they can break up in a few months!''

If this all leads to Sandow and Rhodes winning the titles off Bryan and Kane at HIAC, so Bryan and Kane's storyline can continue, it would be ok, but still I would of rather Sandow won the IC Title, but I guess that's not going to happen with Ryback having that in his sites. I just don't want Sandow to get his first pinfall loss when he's tagging with Rhodes, that would be a horrible way to end his never pinned/submitted streak he's been on.

Rhodes is one of the best performers in the WWE today.

Re: Newly formed tag team.

At what? He's average to me. Average in the ring, average on the mic. I wouldn't rank him in the top 5 in-ring workers in the company, nor in the top 5 mic-workers. He probably wouldn't even be in the top 10 of both of those categories.
I think he's a bit overrated on the mic but in the ring he's a beast, when he gets given time he's one of the best in the company. EASILY top 10.

I'm not sure if he's top ten on the mic, lemme think about people that are better than him.

Punk
Barrett
Christian
Miz
Sandow
Cena
Del Rio
Kane? (debatable)
Henry? (debatable)
Big Show? (debatable)
Bryan (In terms of actual mic work? no, he's a lot better at working the crowd though)

Obviously I'm not counting part time talent like Rock, hhh, Jericho etc

Calling him mediocre is pretty harsh, you think he's essentially a 5/10 on mic and in ring? I'd give him a 7 for mic and an 8 for ring.

But anyway, I, like you at first hated the idea of this team, but It's happened and I've accepted it. Just try to enjoy it, they have a long time to build the feud with Kane and Bryan and it should be pretty entertaining.

Rhodes & Sandow aren't even a real team, so Pyro's "Shawn Michaels/Marty Jannetty" argument doesn't apply.
Exactly, I doubt they will even have a "break-up" they will just stop teaming together after the feud is over.
