WWE Network Free In February

--The WWE Network is planning another free month in February. That tells me that November must have been very successful as far as adding subscribers in December, to come back so quickly with the same gimmick.

STAMFORD, Conn. — Due to the tremendous response from fans to the free November promotion, WWE will again offer a free month of WWE Network to new subscribers during February in advance of its biggest event of the year, WrestleMania 31 on Sunday, March 29. During the month of February, subscribers will have access to all of WWE Network’s programming, including a live podcast hosted by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin this Monday, February 2 featuring Triple H, and the all-new, live pay-per-view event WWE Fast Lane on Sunday, February 22.

“Last November, we offered a free month of WWE Network to new subscribers with great success, helping us reach the one million subscriber milestone,” said Michelle Wilson, WWE Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer. “We are excited to extend the same opportunity in February to those who have not yet subscribed, so they can experience all that WWE Network offers right before WrestleMania.”

On Tuesday, WWE announced that WWE Network had surpassed one million subscribers just 11 months after launch, making it the fastest-growing digital subscription service.

Like other digital subscription services, such as Netflix and Hulu Plus, fans are able to sign up for WWE Network online by going to WWE.com and can watch WWE Network on their TVs through connected devices such as Sony PlayStation 3, Sony PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Roku streaming devices as well as Smart TVs, including Sony and Samsung. The U.S. English language version of WWE Network is available direct to consumers in more than 170 countries and territories, and recently launched in the UK and Ireland.

WWE Network’s one-of-a-kind programming includes all 12 WWE pay-per-view events LIVE at no additional charge, plus groundbreaking original series, reality shows, documentaries, classic matches, exclusive coverage of special events and more than 2,000 titles in its video-on-demand library.

Re: WWE Planning To Have Network Free In February

Surely that will mean Fast Lane needs to be really well booked and an all round good ppv?
If that's shit it could give them a few problems as far as WrestleMania season subscribers go.

Re: WWE Planning To Have Network Free In February

So who's going over in the rumble Vince?

Reigns

How we going to deal with any potential backlash?

Lets give them the network free in February

Re: WWE Planning To Have Network Free In February

This signifies the opposite of success.

If they had enough subscribers they wouldn't bother with the free gimmick once every 3 months.

This whole network experiment is an abject failure, it's only Vince's stubbornness which is stopping it from being pulled any time soon.

At this rate it will be in May and August too. If you are giving it away free 4 months out of every year that's 33% of potential revenues you are losing.

Remember the Network is mainly aimed at hardcore fans anyway, hardcore fans who do not want to see people like Reigns as the next top guy. If they let this man anywhere near the main event I guaran-damn-tee you the Network will bomb in 2015.

Vincent K McMahon:

"Despite the way I would feel personally about someone, if it's the right business thing to do, I'll do it for our audience."

"Giving it to the audience is probably the easiest thing. Finding out what they truly want is probably the most difficult."

"If you stop building stars, which we never do, you wouldn't be in business."

"We love our fans, so there's nothing we wouldn't do for them, and we go directly to them."

"Again, the nice part about it is that we listen to our fans, and they're the ones who really decide who is ready to break through into that top echelon."

Re: WWE Planning To Have Network Free In February

I really dont think doing the free months are that big of a deal. $9.99 a month is a great price and to be honest the WWE Network is way under priced for all that you get. I have had it since day one and have not been happier with it and get happier all the time with the new content they are always adding to it.
