Default WWE Network in the UK

So with the network due for release on October the 1st in the UK, I was just wondering how people believe the network will work in the UK? Is it likely we will get the full on demand + PPV's version that they get in the US, or are we more likely to get some sort of Sky tie up where there's a specific sky network channel (Think MUFC tv) and a limited on demand content through skygo?

Also, what do you think the price is going to be? Obviously, we all know the network in the US is just, you know 9.99... Do you think we're likely to get it at the conversion rate or 9.99.

I've resisted getting the US version of the network so far, but if we are only getting a Sky version of the network over here I imagine that I'll just end up getting the US version, especially if we're made to pay extra!

Probably be some watered down bullcrap. Best bet is to just setup a US account on your console.

That's what I'm worried about. I'm going to feel like I've wasted a lot of time if it is though.

The only positive I could see about the network being a Sky channel is I wouldn't have to worry about any lagging with the streams of the PPV's, but that wouldn't be worth the extra cost and lack of on demand content compared to the US version.

Well, if they want it to be a success they have to give the same content and the same value that what the US get, if they don't then they're going to see a loss of potential customers, it seemed really unfair with what they did with the Canadian launch, but from what I hear they wanted to get it out quick and plan to launch it fully, which I hope happens for them because I found it really unfair.

It's not as though the network have licencing issues to address because they own the content, it'll probably be the same in regards to the whole Raw/Smackdown 30 days thing (which I think has also lost them a lot of potential customers because fans wanted the network to keep up with the product, specially in different time zones when Raw and PPV's air at 1 am - 4 am when they're on during the times when people have to be up the next day) but they do have 'This week in WWE' at least ... which is a pretty good catch up show that I've heard a lot of people have been watching, so it might not be too bad, but they at least need to advertise this.

I do kinda wonder when the app will come onto the stores to get also, of course the WWE app is already available on the mobile devices but I wonder when the PSN store will get it and Xbox etc... I imagine it'll be a week or so before the launch or something.

But they really do need to make sure they give the best available content to all places, otherwise people are going to catch wind of this and they're going to lose out on things if they don't match up with what the other places are getting.

I very much doubt it'll be a Sky channel though, if it was then they can expect a huge loss, most people don't even have Sky any more due to it's ridiculous prices and not being worth it, people either can't afford it or just simply don't think it's worth the money any more, not when there are other options about and most people settle for freeview now too.

Yeah, I agree that the network should be the same across all countries where possible.

However, with the way Canada seemed to have been shafted, I fear the worst. Also, I'm wondering how Sky's new five year deal they have signed with WWE will play into it. Apparently all 12 pay-per-views will now be available through Sky Sports Box Office, so is it that they're adding the extra PPV's to Box Office to cover some of the revenue lost from the Network? Or is it more likely that them saying all 12 PPV's will be available on Box Office is because they know the Network will be a Sky Channel and so it's just a spin that they have put on the press release?

I know I'm being a pessimist, but I would be very happy to be proved wrong!

We'll just have to see really, people aren't going to buy the network if they've still got to pay for the PPV's on Sky, it's just not going to happen for them, simple as really, the PPV's are their biggest incentive.

That said in the US they still aired the PPV's on the channels over there, like they do Box Office here, so will just have to see, I think the deal was just to have exclusive WWE content, which basically means Raw/Smackdown etc... they'll get first, which is the same thing that went down in the US.

I really don't know though so we'll have to see, from what I've heard it was only Canada that it happened, and it's been launched in 170 countries or something, so I guess we'll just have to see

Really wish the Network will be a Sky Channel for 9.99.

Itll be the same version and it will cost around the equivalent of $9.99, i highly doubt they're going to release a watered down version of any sorts.
