the most disturbing thing is that the DLC is on the disc, you just have to pay to unlock the shit that you already have on the disc...
And sad thing about that.....some companies actually said things like that is the future of gaming. Meaning you'll pay maybe $5 just to get the game. And then pay for each thing you wanna unlock.
Using WWE13 as an example:
Lets say the roster contains 1000 superstars/divas. They'd charge you 10 cents per superstar or diva(meaning it'd cost $10 just to get every superstar/diva in the game). Followed by paying something like $10 to be able to play attitude era mode. Another $10 to play WWE Universe mode. Another $10 for customizations(like create a superstar, create an arena), $10 for online play, $10 to be able to play matches in exhibition mode.
Or they might just charge a 1 time price of $60 or something to unlock everything(so individually, you'd be paying more than if you paid 1 time price)
So basically, in order to even play a game, you'd have to pay just to unlock each aspect in it, even though it's all on the disc already.
If that actually does happen, then video games will start dying. Another thing that could hurt video games is download only games. I know there's some already that are download only(but those are small games only like $15 or something), but the big games that'd be like $60, would be maybe 10GB in space(a size that might be too much for someone with a bandwidth limit. I know for my ISP, it costs like $50 a month for 80GB of usage(80 a month means an average of 2.6GB can be used a day,10 is way too much)
