Only really just noticed this, but does anybody else think that The Rock looks strange in this pic on the box for WM 2000?

I know this thread is about old wrestling games, and specifically those for computers, mobile, etc; but has/did anyone play any of the many Wrestling board or card games that were out?

For example, WWE Raw Deal is meant to be a good game, I've never played it though. Its a Collectible Card Game (link below)
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/18824/wwe-raw-deal

and then there's 1984's Superstar Pro Wrestling game, (link below)
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1...wrestling-game

there's a bunch of them on:

Thanks

If I could sum it all up on 1 or 2 videos.

Shut your mouth was my favorite, how I miss playing it...

I loved most of the ps2 video games, with shut your mouth being the best. I loved WWF ATTITUDE, the stable match was amazing. especially hardcore stable matches, talk about mayhem.

Those SYM/HCTP videos just go to show that a great wrestling game DOES NOT need to be the most realistic wrestling game. A sense of humor and a little bit of over-the-top action go a long, long way--it's about being a fun game, not the most accurate simulation. It's a true shame that we'll probably never get a wrestling game that is anywhere near the style that SYM/HCTP gave us.

Absolutely. I remember playing WCW/nWo Revenge on N64... it was a great game. One of the best wrestling games I've ever played.

I had a PS1 and 2 and can remember being excited as hell for the release of Attitude. Looking back it looks shocking; I wish I could play it without feeling the need to criticise it and enjoy it for what it was.

I can also remember getting Smackdown 1 and it was amazing. Massively enjoyed that and number 2 on PS1 along with one of the ECW games and WCW Mayhem and another.

I still have my PS2 and remember also getting it for Xmas one year a long with Just Bring It. That, Shut Your Mouth and HCTP were great games and I can still play them for hours with enjoyment. Shut Your Mouth is my favourite of the lot, the season mode was unreal.

I recently came across ECW Hardcore Revolution and WCW Monday Nitro in my old pile of N64 games, are these any good? Or are they shit like the reviews say?

I played Nitro like hell when I was younger, but it's absolute garbage--I knew it then and I really know it now. I will give it credit that it captures the feel of WCW in 98 and the roster is great, but the controls are damn near impossible, every move is stiff and the game plays at 1000x speed. I don't remember ever getting the controls down enough to win a match. The PSX/PC version are vastly superior if only because of the awesome-as-fuck video rants.

Hardcore Revolution is literally just a re-skin of WWF Attitude, so if you don't care for Attitude (not many do), then you're not going to get much out of HR unless you're a die-hard ECW fan. Much like Nitro, everything is stiff and you'll be pausing the game to check the move list for the 32-button combination just do a vertical suplex. Unlike Nitro, however, the game is not too fast, but way too slow and clunky. It's certainly more playable than Nitro in my opinion, but at the same time isn't quite as fun.

So as far as N64 wrestling games go, you definitely do not have the cream of the crop--actually, quite the opposite (probably the two worst when you get right down to it), but there is some enjoyment to be had considering it is late 90's wrestling on the N64.
