Re: Official WWE 13 Thread
There are a few small aspects that could potentially turn my expectations around for not picking up this game (though some of this may seem a bit too online-heavy, seeing as how I was once in a online PS3 league that made this look more technical than you think):
1) Limitations on the altering of attributes. To actually allow online players to be outright given the privilege to make their CAWs and default characters human gods is just unnecessary kiss-assery for those with the lack of actual skill. If these characters are going to have high attributes online, then they also have to be earned online.
2) Recovery rates. The next time you hit someone with a finisher in WWE '12 (as unlikely as that may be), I want you to literally count the amount of seconds they stay down for. At the very best, I can guarantee you'll reach 15 seconds. Now, though this may speed up gameplay as you're not waiting for them to stand up once again, it can also make it last for-fucking-ever if you're in a multi-man match, where there will constantly be someone stopping a pinfall or submission from happening because someone's timing was slightly off. As well as this, it makes it downright impossible half the time if you really want to experiment with some spots, but are constantly interrupted by the guy standing up without a scratch on him, ready to tear you apart. If a finisher is hit, the receiver should stay down for as long as it looks in real life, by which I mean 30-60seconds at least.
3) R2/RT as the reversal button. No matter what console it's on, the right thumbstick is the most laggiest button on a gamepad. Hence one must question the logic as to why reversing, one of the most time-precise moves in the game, was allocated to this. The R1/RB button would be far better, or even one of the face buttons.
4) Vote to kick players. Pretty self-explanatory. There will always be that one dick who's only purpose is to ruin someone else's day.
Won't complain about commentary since I have it muted most of the time. Have absolutely no hope for it ever being good.
Commentary will always be subpar for WWE games but WWE 12 had the best commentary for any WWE game. King making corny jokes, and Micheal Cole acting like a douche, and also praises The Miz. When commentary is shitty in real life, it doesn't take that much to imitate it into the game. Commentary before SvR 2009 was God awful.
All they need to do for WWE 13 is to fix the physics system and improve WWE Universe mode. Universe mode and Physics System was what got me hooked on SvR 2011 for about 2 years. In WWE 12, they dumbed down the physics system.
How can blurred fingers ruin a damn game? Even on most TV-14 shows today, middle fingers are blurred out. In the Q&A, Cory Ledesma said that the game won't be as 100% edgy as the Attitude Era, as the game also focuses on the WWE in 2011-2012. It's amazing how everyone rages over this censor.
You're missing the point. Why make a game on the Attitude Era if u cant feature the BIGGEST AE star's signature taunt? Blurring in a video game? Come on now. Unless it's nudity, why the hell should it be blurred out.
I dont know about yall, but 80% of the people I know and who follow me on Twitter are copping this game for the Attitude Era stars and mode mainly. A lot of people are pissed about the blurring... and the Cole commentary because THQ and WWE just won't give us a game thats 100 % what the people want.
The game focuses on the WWE in 2011-2012, sure. The current roster is there. The selling point and story mode is Attitude Era. Consider WWE 12, had Austin's middle fingers NOT blurred out and a Holy Shit sign(no Oh My God shit) and it makes perfect sense why people are mad.
Why settle for little BS like this, if you're paying 60 bucks for a fucking game that comes out every year?
Watching Big Show jump around and celebrate like an idiot is kind of funny, considering he's a heel now. What they need to do, as that top comment on that video said, is add both face and heel entrances for each wrestler, so if they turned in real life recently or they turn in your Universe mode, it's more authentic. Seems like when the game comes out each year, like half the roster turned or something.
Why is Chimel still doing Smackdown? Lilian Garcia rejoined the company last December for crying out loud. THQ really are lazy bastards aren't they?
Yes, but that's been obvious for years now. The best mentality is to not get your hopes up for anything in these games these days, that way you won't get disappointed.
Didn't they say they had new crowd reactions in the game? Cena had almost dead reaction for first half of his entrance(which in real life, is the louder part of his entrance)
