The reason it got a lower score was because it didn't have a lot of change (ironic with Punk on the cover), and that one change, the camera angles, feels broken. Thankfully, you can turn off that broken feature, but it still doesn't stop the game from feeling like a re-release with an Attitude Era paint job on top.

So pretty much, if you hated last year's game, you won't like this one. If you liked last year's, you'll like this one.

Cory Ledesma is already going into damage control over the IGN score on Twitter, and he's doing a live stream with the reviewer in an hour and a half which should be interesting as all hell.

That said, who puts stock into IGN reviews anyway? They're notorious for rampling on about a few game elements and overlooking alot. The reviewer here failed to mention the improvements to Universe mode, the addition of the OMG moments, the smoother animations and hit detection, the much larger roster, the new match types..ect I've tried the game out for a half hour at Best Buy, the audio and camera angles were fine, didn't run across much if any glitches.

I think the score is fair given that it's mostly recycled and the engine is dated, but the reviewer could've put more effort into elaborating on his criticism and talking about other aspects of the game in more detail.

I sound so old when I say this but I remember when the review scored went from 1-10 and not 6-10. Back then even a 5/10 game was alright! It was only when it went around 3/10 that the game was considered bad

That's your opinion, look at 2K13 metacritic its a 90 score. WWE 13 ign score 8.4
NBA2K13 ign score 9.1
Nuff said although if you find 2k13 shit, that is OK not everyone likes every game.
