But you're right. And its not even a discussion. GM mode (despite a couple of horrible glitches and poor decisions) was far superior to Universe mode. GM mode actually had built in competition between the brands. You could build your own stories and make your own cards from scratch. Build people up, give them titles, everything.
Universe mode is more like watching a comedic parody of "what if WWE did this" than playing a serious wrestling game. There's no drive to continue playing and no real intrigue in the mode. It intriguing at first to see what the game can come up with but it gets old very quickly.

Re: WWE '12
Im trying to use Jericho to feud with Punk but the stupid game keeps making the both have matches on RAW and not PPV's, and yes I watch the entire match (Like I watch a simulated match between Punk and Del Rio, Jericho doesn't even interfere). Instead, some random person like Swagger or Dolph interferes and Jericho is acted as if he is not even in a feud.. God damn it

Re: WWE '12
New submission system is good because you know if the person is close to tapping or not, but it's real hard to get them to submit, especially since most moves require arms/legs to be orange/red and those are 2 hardest areas to get red.
Pinning system is annoying too. You could dominate 90% of a match, the ai attacks you a few times, gets a pin and wins because the kickout meter is terrible.

Well, I've never found it hard to make anyone submit. Well yeah, there's one person I've had trouble making submit, and that's Henry. But I find it realistic. Sure sometimes you can lock in Del Rio's Armbreaker a couple of times without making them tap, but I'd rather it be like that than too easy
And personally, I've NEVER lost because of not being able to hit the spot on the kickout meter to make them kick out, even though I haven't been beaten up that much. I've actually found myself kicking out of situations where I could never kick out in the old games, which I think makes it even more possible to have those kind of matches where too main eventers face off on a PPV and manages to kick out of a finisher or two each, just in the very last part of the last second

Re: WWE '12
First thing, do people NOT realize that this exact same kick-out system was in 2011? You had the OPTION of button smashing, but you could also do it the way it is this year. I actually found this method a LOT easier than button mashing, especially in last man standing matches.
Thanks to the kick-out system in WWE 12, I've had MUCH better matches. In older games, if you were completely destroyed and they hit a finisher, it was virtually impossible to button mash enough to fill the meter and kick out. This year, if you know wtf you're doing, you can kick out of as many finishers as you want. There's been matches where it's gone on for maybe 15-20 minutes, a couple of finishers in and I was able to kick out at the VERY last second and then go on to win. I much much much prefer this system.

You say you want it to be done the way it should have been done, rather than the fucked up version WWE did... then say you want to end it with a "Corporation vs. Anarchy" feud? I think I'll take WWE's version. lol
I love CM Punk as WWE Champion. It's where he deserves to be. HOWEVER, the Summer of Punk should have ended dead-stop at Money In The Bank. Punk should not have been inside a WWE ring again until right around now. He should have won and left and stayed off TV for months. Eventually, videos should've began airing during WWE programming of Punk (WITH the belt) at ROH and other indy shows. Calling himself the true WWE Champion. Eventually, Punk would come back in the build to WrestleMania, bringing a stable of ROH guys with him. It would've culminated with WWE Champion vs. WWE Champion and a WWE vs. ROH match on the card as well. WWE could've gone over, as long as Punk retained.
Only problem with that... as that for the story to be perfect, the WWE's version of their champion would NEED to be Cena. And unfortunately, he's already locked into his match with The Rock at Mania.

Re: WWE 12 - The Storyline Mode
I created a story revolving around Cena/Taker at WM.
I also tried to have a big story in Universe mode where I built Sheamus for months then had him want to end the streak as his final stepping stone. So for 2 months I had Sheamus interfere in every Taker match, cost him matches, everything. Then comes WrestleMania. Taker comes out first, then Sheamus' music hits and he stops on the ramp, shakes his finger and brings out Drew McIntyre to wrestle instead. Drew Mac absolutely works Taker and destroys him before Taker gets a lucky tombstone to win. All that work for fucking Drew McIntyre to just take over the spot.

Re: WWE 12 - The Storyline Mode
Did one involving Punk bringing a guy up to be his protege and eventually turning heel on him. Pretty much a copy of Triple H/Batista from 2004-2005, only it's got better promos.
Might do a story for a superhero gimmick that's less of a joke than Hurricane was.
Was going to do an ROH Invasion arc, but it's damn near impossible to find/create CAWS convincing enough.
