Have they announced anything about Universe mode yet?

If it's the exact same as last year I'll be more than pissed.

Anyone else wish they would just take a year off to make a half decent attempt at the game? I mean, with them changing from SVR to just WWE, this year would have been perfect imo to not release anything, instead spending an extra year making sure the shit they put in actually works, and THEN release the all new branded WWE game in 2013. But of course, they wouldn't make any money that way, so what the hell was I thinking?

It's what I've ended up thinking for years when it comes to sports games. Just give a roster update for a small fee in the year between. Or in WWE's case, a few of the new superstars.

Whats the point? As an extra 6 months will do nothing, we'll still have a shoddy game then people will cry that they come out every 2 years and so on.

Universe Mode has been improved, they've already said they don't want to release details just yet to keep us excited, hence why we're getting small info every few days. Same with the difficulties they've said in great detail that the AI is more smart and that doesn't result in just more counters.

yeah, 6 months development time is nothing at all...right?

I do agree with you though; they aren't the same every year: if you play 2007, then play 2011. Theres a huge difference. Therefore they change

An extra 6 months to develop the game could help smooth out even more parts of the game and sort out more glitches and such, more testing time etc...

As for Universe not getting my hopes high on it. They say it's improved but talk is cheap and in all fairness playing it is different from seeing it or hearing it. Naturally when they do release stuff it's gonna show some of the good stuff and chances are there still may be underlying issues. I hope I'm wrong though.

Well just look at UFC as a crappy example, but anyways. They moved it to an 18 month model, the only thing they've changed/added are submission and adding in feints and a few new animations.

Tbh 2012 looks miles better and different than 2011 thanks to the new engine, people cry on too much the games aren't that bad, yeah in some areas it's pathetic but still.

EDIT: Well either way they're not gonna do it, shed loads of people buy the game each year - even those who bitch. I'd rather they kept the yearly model, but if they changed to an 18 month model then so be it.

But like I said looking and playing are too different things. People tend to say "This year looks better than last" every year. Naturally it will never happen though because people will always fall for the hype and get it but reckon it could have helped for the game overall. Not bitching though because none of the last SD games have really been horrible but all could have been much better. Until WWE 12 comes out I'll reserve my judgement and talk about it then because watching a clip which shows the best features is a lot different from actually playing it yourself.
