Default how is....

hey I was wondering what everyone's opinion's were of Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain..I have pretty much done everything I can on my SD v. Raw 07 on 360 and I still got my PS2 and I've never played SD! Here Comes The Pain so I was wondering how the story mode was, if wrestlers actually come to the ring with the belts and how the graphics compare to RAW 2 for Xbox because none of the sites I've read reviews on really go into much detail so just wondering how everyone liked the game and if it's worth picking up just to keep me occupied till the new SD v. Raw 08 comes out..sorry for rambling on but thanks in advance and is much appreciated!!!

Well i have this game and ive got to say the graphics are good.Season Mode goes on for quite a while about 2-3 in game years.Yes the wrestlers do come down to the ring with there titles and that, but you dont hear them talking it just has Speech Writing at the bottom so you know what there saying.Overall i would say it is a good game

IMO, here comes the pain is the best smackdown game yet. the season mode is awesome, you get to choose what your character does and there are hundreds of possible scenaries. the graphics are just a bit worse than svr 2006, but they are still good. the best thing about it is that in hardcore matches you can beat your opponent about the whole building. you can even go to madison square garden and hit your opponent from the top of a building. the roster isnt half bad either, you get goldberg, kevin nash, scott steiner, steve austin, rock etc...

its really cheap now as well, so its definately worth a buy.

Here Comes The Pain was the best in my opinion because you have title records of each superstar in story mode you had good wrestlers in the game. well do to 07 i cant really play it anymore because i have gotten used to those controls and some what forgot Here comes the Pains controls but i had loved the game

Like the above posters said, HCTP is the best. Huge Roster at the time too.

You want arguably the best WWE game ever, but what I easily consider the best WWE game on the PS2 to date, buy Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain.

Amazing, is pretty much the keyword here, which perfectly sums up HCTP overall. This is the first Smackdown game which introduces the 4 styles of grapple moves, quick, signature, strong, submission, so that right there changes the gameplay in a rather large way. This game has a hugely star studded roster, including the likes of Hollywood Rock, Stone Cold, Goldberg, Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash, Ultimo Dragon, Rey Mysterio, The Undertaker, just to name a few. There's like 45 other wrestlers to choose from. This is also the first game to include legends, and you get the chance to play as the likes of Sgt. Slaughter, Roddy Piper, Old School Undertaker, Hillbilly Jim, among others.

This game also includes what I consider the best season in any Smackdown game. It just goes to prove that seasons without voice overs, are THAT much better, considering you're able to do so much more with just 'text talk', then actual real life voice overs.

Overall, this is a must have for any wrestling game fan. There's so many other little neat things in there, like the ability to fight all over the place, and the newly introduced Elimination Chamber. Highly recommended by me. Highly.

I can safely confirm that they are indeed the debut longer blue shorts he used to wear. It does kinda suck, but whatever. There's so much other positive in the game that this one little negative, is really irrelevant.

Diesel hit the nail right on the head, HCTP is possibly the best WWE game ever. Story mode is awesome, as you get to choose your path and challenge for any of the midcard titles you want at any time, providing your superstar rating is high enough. HCTP has the best gameplay ever in a WWE game in my opinion, I find it to be much better and realistic looking than the recent SvR games.

One negative that I can't confirm whether or not it's true, is that if you play with a created character in story mode for some reason the disc can scratch the lens. I read it somewhere a few years back, and thought nothing of it. But, I created myself and played in story mode for a while, and my ps2 did get a little messed up. Maybe it was just a coincidence, so I can't say whether or not it's true.
