Basically means your programme isn't child friendly. You can lower it on the GM's desk I think. Depends on whether you want a larger, mainstream promotion or a more hardcore/specialised one.

Downloaded this yesterday. I tried it out before a couple months ago, but didn't really have the spare time for it.

Started up a new promotion sort of. Running off a storyline that Dana White (UFC Owner) bought into the wrestling business. I replaced CZW with my fed, Revolutionary Wrestling Alliance or RWA. Don't really know why I replaced them now that I think about it cause I only kept two of their wrestlers, Chris Hero and Sonjay Dutt. Both were on open contracts and I was only able to sign Dutt to a written one as Hero wanted to keep his Japan commitments. I of course made Dana White the owner (he's in the game o.O).

I made Terry Funk my color commentator. Also upped the image of the fed to 35 (from 25 I think) and upped some of the production and other stuff slightly before starting the game as I felt if Dana White were to really start a wrestling fed he'd get more exposure than the run-of-the-mill fed. Also made the fed National.

I signed a bunch of guys after starting the game (only had 2 beforehand). Raven, CM Punk, Vampiro, Evan Keragais, Necro Butcher, Samoa Joe, Alex Shelley, Jay Lethal, etc. This is a 2006 mod (I believe) so these guys aren't as popular as they are today. I also have 4 divisions which are Heavyweight, Electric (think Cruiser/X-Divison), Extreme (hardcore), and Women's (have no use for it and haven't used a woman in a match yet, going to disband this one).

We started off as the 3rd ranked fed below WWE and TNA which is about where I wanted us seeing as how it's a Dana White fed. Would've maybe liked Ring Of Honor higher than us, but that's alright as they're a cult fed w/o a TV show (we have a weekly one called Wednesday Night WARFARE!).

So the first four weekly shows I just built up to the PPV which was Call To Honor or something like that. Basically where I would crown all the champions. First month saw LAX attack Alex Shelley and then Samoa Joe offering to team up with Shelley and that team forming. That was a big feud as well as Raven and Vampiro. After two weekly shows, Mick Foley entered as the surprise GM. He set up the PPV match for the RWA World Championship between Vampiro and Raven. Also at the PPV was LAX vs Shelley and Joe for the Tag Titles, a fatal four-way for the hardcore title between Justin Credible, Devon Storm, CW Anderson, and one other guy I forget. And the Electric Championship was won in a 10-man battle royal featuring guys like Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, Johnny Nitro (released from WWE), Derrick King, Evan Karagais, and some others. Ken Shamrock also made his debut where he challenged any member of the roster to a submission match, the cocky CM Punk accepted.

Raven won the World Championship, Derrick King won the Electric, and CW Anderson won the Extreme. Shamrock took down Punk of course. The next week WWE stole Mick Foley back on a written contract so we had to bring in a new GM who was revealed as Bret Hart. I made the smart decision this time and signed Bret to a written contract for the year.

I'm in my second week of the second month and things are looking good imo. We've got some pretty nice feuds going with Vampiro/Raven over the World Championship, Joe/Shelley and LAX over the Tags, CW Anderson and Devon Storm over the Extreme, and CM Punk and Ken Shamrock (young arrogant student vs veteran teacher).

I've made some mistakes so far though which have resulted in Dana White rating my job performance as below average seeing as how we've lost money and image the first month. The main reasons for losing money the first month I think was Mick Foley on an open contract for over $100,000 an appearance as he showed up to almost every event as the GM. Also stupidly did the same thing with Devon Storm and CW Anderson. Those have been fixed. Our image has gone up slowly since the first show so I think after this second month we'll be back to making money and gaining image and everything will be a-okay. Hoping White doesn't fire me, but if he does I'll just start over having learned from these mistakes. Don't want to bring in any big names, but I will if the image doesn't go up so I don't get fired. Would probably bring in Goldberg for a match here or there. Maybe Sting as well. Just guys who Dana White could throw money at if he think it would increase the image of the fed.

Looking to stay with smaller guys and build them up though. Vampiro, Raven, and Shamrock are the vets. Using Shamrock to build up Punk. Expecting Vampiro to eventually give way to Punk as the rising heel. Then have Raven eventually give way to Chris Hero as the rising face (pending I can get him to sign a written contract).

I'm most likely going to be writing this out as a story kind of like the description they give you, but more detailed. It will be on another forum that I frequent and has stories like that but about basketball, football, etc. I'll post a link if I decide to do that so you guys can follow if you want. Just no giving away what happens as I'll be posting the story from scratch show-by-show.

1. Have to "push" them. Put them in feuds with a guy slightly higher than them. You can also job some people to them. Run promos, etc. That's for overness though. Every other rating may progress based on your trainers and the guy's age, but I'm not sure.

2. Put on better shows. Build up your feuds, etc.

3. Same as above. If guys aren't where they should be on the card it's going to make it hard to get a good buy-rate, TV rating, ticket sales, etc. Just gotta put it all together like a real fed.

4. Not sure what you mean by staff job. If you mean announcer, then yeah they can switch to that if they have that available. As far as writers, production, road agent, trainers, medical, etc, I don't think so. Don't think you can make them an owner as that would be kind of weird in the game. You can announce any non-wrestler as an Authority Figure. Whether it be GM or CEO or w/e, it'll just be known as an Authority Figure in the game. Have to use your imagination on that one.

Aside from the price, are there (m)any cons to TEW 2010? I've heard and read quite a bit about it, but nothing really negative.

I haven't touched a TEW game since 2005 or 2007. I know they are a bit more in-depth and require you to be so. From what I remember though, there's not a big enough difference from EWR for me to want to buy it. I'd say it's a bit better, but EWR does the job too for free.

EWR is my personal favourite. There are still roster updates available for it, but its fallen to the wayside a little now. TEW is okay, but when I played it I found it much harder to pick up than EWR, with far more to do. Maybe good if your obsessed by EWR, but otherwise I'd avoid it. Can't believe how long this thread is.
