Yukes took about 10 wrestling games till they actually made a really good game in Smackdown 2, Aki Corporation took about 4 till they hit their stride with WCW/nWo Revenge. The people who made the Fire Pro games were pretty experienced by the time they made their best I mean Masato Masuda designed the Orginal Pro Wrestling for the NES. I don't think 2k15 is going to be the best game we've seen but I hope to a see a change in the series.
forgot about wrestlemania 21, must've lumped it in with the day of reckoning series in my mind.
i always thought that smackdown 2: know your role had really crappy gameplay to be honest, but it was loaded with features and match types that wasn't seen in a WWF game before it. the casket match, tlc match, the ability to rank contenders for titles and see the titles on the wrestlers during entrances. i really liked the season mode.
wcw/nwo revenge was the complete opposite, thought it had great gameplay but lacked modes. i did like the huge roster and ability to customise clothing but i wish you were able to defend belts and get a better season like they gave us with the WWF Aki games. i would still put that above know your role for replay value even with the lacking modes.
fire pro is a step above everything if you are looking for a pure wrestling simulation and you don't care about the graphics. they should make more of those and market them domestically. it might never happen because most people in america don't seem to care about japanese wrestling.
