I find it strange that their games from early 2000's to 03 are a lot better than the current games.WWF No Mercy,WWF Smackdown 2 Know your role, Shut your mouth and Here comes the pain are pretty much better than all the svr games and 2k games as well. In those games you felt like they put in more effort to make the game as good as it can be.

I don't get it either. The games nowadays don't look any better than the ones i played over a decade ago.

I think it's because THQ knew the games would sell well, even if they only updated the roster, so they stopped trying once they noticed that. It isn't like anyone else was going to come along and steal their customers by making a rival game, so they probably stopped caring.

That, and the fact that THQ flat out sucked. There's a reason they went out of business.

But that is a problem with annual release video games today. Many times they just don't even bother fixing things up that much because they know people will be buying their game every year, so you could make minimal changes and just release the game and people buy it.

Look at those shooting games, they just have diff maps for the most part and people buy it. Sports games just have roster updates and changed menu graphics and people buy it. WWE has a few new superstars added and a changed story mode and people buy it.

Things like gameplay rarely changes from year to year. Many times even the bugs/glitches remain in games for YEARS(as proven by numerous EA Sports games and even WWE games)

Re: Why have the WWE games declined in a similar pattern to the actual programme?

THQ were awful developers and it shows if you look at the lack of innovation from Smackdown vs Raw 2007 through to WWE 13 these games all looked like crappy upscaled PS2 games with some awful gameplay. The story modes were awful with the crappy scripted story modes they did that took all the fun out of the old Season Mode they had in the PS1 and early PS2 games. They tried with Universe Mode but that mode has flopped big time and hasn't had much addition from the first time they did in 2011. Lets all hope 2K can pull something great out for PS4/Xbox One they have new hardware and have a lot more to work with with that hardware and if NBA 2K14 is anything to go by we should see something great. But then again Yukes still work on these games also.

Well all the games are meant to look like WWE RAW or at least its what we have heard from Ledesma the last 4 years.

Look i love those old games too but i feel like people make them seem way better than they really were. SVR 06 & 2K14 are much better than No Mercy and any of the SD games that were made, the 1 thing i do give the old games is that they had a better moves that ended up getting taken out of later additions. I love 2k14 because it feels like an actual match and hopefully they expand on all the things 14 did right and correct the thing it did wrong, playing HCTP now is comical because of how fast the game moves but it's still fun whereas No Mercy is just too slow for me now.

I disagree the games have been amazing since WWE 12 came out.
