I was a Playstation guy but I bought N64 just for this game. Those old THQ games were the best. I loved WCW/NWO Revenge, WM2000 and No Mercy. It sucks the N64 died before they could complete and release the final N64 WWE game they were working on. I think it was called Backlash or Armageddon. I forget. I was beyond disappointed with the games they made on the next generation consoles. The Smackdown games got better but all the others got worse.
Heh I emulate all the older stuff like that now N64 etc... even the arcade games like WWF Wrestlefest and WWF superstars I can play on my HDTV (through HDMI on my laptop) with a wireless Xbox 360 controller, i also have a wireless arcade stick. So freaking awesome.

It was a terrible business decision by THQ that was the culprit. They decided to switch to Yukes who has made every WWE game since, and also made the PS1 games while Aki made the N64 games. It was obvious which one was better. Aki after that developed Def Jam Vendetta 1 and Def Jam Fight for NY which were wrestling type games with rappers that were actually pretty fun.
THQ went out of business in 2013 and 2k Sports bought the rights to WWE games (which is why it was WWE 2k14 instead of WWE 14) they let Yukes finish 2k14 we'll have to see if they continue using Yukes I'm hoping they get a new developer.

Flaw - one of the last great metal bands.
Through the Eyes a masterpiece of an album.

I love WCW/nWo Revenge and I still playing it occasionally. It was disappointing that it didn't feature the wrestlers' themes though. IMO, the top 3 WCW games are WCW/nWo Revenge, WCW vs nWo: World Tour and WCW vs the World.
