I made a poll for this. I tried coming up with wrestling games that are highly regarded and put them in the poll. I cant put all the games since there aren't enough slots.
I will have to say WWE 2k14, and I am not saying that to hype up the game because it just came out, if this was WWE 13 I would've ranked it rather low. I think this is the first game to really capture the excitement of a match on tv, and the first game where the wrestlers feel like their real life counterparts and not robots. On a gameplay front this wins hands down as far as 3D wrestling games go.
I would say that the 30 years to Wrestlemania mode is very well done, but i would have prefered a branching storyline mode but that is just nitpicking.
What would be yours?

No Mercy. Graphically it's extremely outdated, but the same itself is still very fun after all these years. Still my favorite control scheme from any WWE game. I think the mods that the game has helps the replay value of it.
No Mercy. I just can't see anything topping this game. Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth, Here Comes The Pain, and Smackdown vs RAW 2006 come close but that's as for as it's going to go compared to this game.
I group together No Mercy (N64), Smackdown 2 (PS1), Here Comes The Pain (PS2), Smackdown Vs Raw 2006 (PS2) and Day of Reckoning 2 (Gamecube) together as being THE best. All are damn near perfect all round as far as gameplay and FUN go, but they all excel at one thing or so slightly over the others in their own unique way.
