The Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt - "The Man Comes Around..."

Bray Wyatt has been calling out The Undertaker for weeks, promising that he will take The Deadman’s soul on The Grandest Stage of Them All. The New Face of Fear will get his wish, as The Phenom has accepted his challenge for Sunday, March 29 in what may be, perhaps, the most frightening showdown in WrestleMania history.

For the better part of a month, Wyatt had been broadcasting mystic missives, leaving the WWE Universe to wonder to whom (or what) he was speaking. At WWE Fastlane, Wyatt made his message a little clearer. Using The Undertaker’s iconic imagery for his own twisted purposes, Wyatt had druids drag him to the ring in a casket, from which he emerged with a devilish smile to issue the challenge. Claiming The Undertaker had become mortal since his Streak came to an end at last year’s Show of Shows, Wyatt said he was no longer afraid of The Phenom, and that it was his mission to send The Deadman “home.”

However, The Undertaker had not been seen or heard from since Brock Lesnar pinned him in one of the most shocking moments in sports-entertainment history, leaving many to wonder if Wyatt’s challenge would go unanswered. The New Face of Fear continued to raise the stakes, setting a casket on fire during Monday Night Raw in hopes of drawing The Deadman out, only to receive radio silence in return. Wyatt stunned the WWE Universe when he revealed that he had come into possession of The Undertaker’s urn, threatening to unleash its mystic power on the WWE Universe.

On the March 9 edition of Raw, Wyatt opened the urn, maniacally laughing as he revealed that it was empty. Yet before Wyatt’s dark sermon could continue, thunder and lightning boomed through the arena as The Undertaker finally made his presence felt. Declaring that Wyatt will rest in peace, The Phenom accepted Wyatt’s challenge and sent a bolt of lightning from the heavens, striking Wyatt’s prized rocking chair and setting it ablaze. Wyatt’s reaction was unusual, to say the least. There was no fear, trepidation or even anger from Wyatt; only tears of joy streaming down The New Face of Fear.

What will happen when The Undertaker stares into The New Face of Fear? Can he redeem himself following the most crushing loss of his career, or will Bray Wyatt send The Deadman to his final resting place? The WWE Universe will find out at WrestleMania 31 on Sunday, March 29, live on WWE Network.

Re: The UnderTaker vs Brah Wyatt

The Taker promo effects were sweet those bells are timeless for chills and the crowd popped like Jack in boxes hoping to see Taker show am hoping he makes a Raw appearance and doesn't do a no-show until WM. Creative seriously need to offer a juicy post-WM for Taker even if it's just like a Stable-Leader Manager like role so is no competing schedules but even then there's a travel schedule so I'm dubious will see anything occur.

I know a lot of people are down on this but goddamit I love it this is the type of shit I love two monsters playing games with each other testing to see who breaks first. I know I'm in the minority but I truly believe after this Bray will be a made man.

oh and also FUCK YEAH FOR THE AMAZING JOHNNY CASH REFERENCE!!!!!

THE NEW FACE OF FEAR VS THE DEADMAN DIS GUNNA RULE

With these larger than life characters in a showcase on the grandest stage, it will be no less than spectacle. That's why this encounter along with Sting's debut are at the very top of my list for most anticipated.

The Johnny Cash tune is just perfect for what Undertaker represents at WrestleMania, who he is a WWE legend, and why staring at the New Face of Fear is the redemption story to tell.

I'm completely sold on Bray Wyatt as the one to conjure a resurrection post broken Streak. Yes, The Streak died a year ago, the Undertaker never looked more vulnerable, but this is still THE UNDERTAKER we speak of. THE MAN will come around...again.

I'm really pulling for Wyatt in this one.

Taker can take another loss at Mania. In my opinion, it makes the story of Taker even better. The ending of The Streak was unthinkable, but for The Undertaker to lose at Wrestlemania 2 YEARS IN ROW?!?!? People will be demanding that he retire.

I'm just gonna assume that Taker v Sting will happen at WM 32 and Taker coming into that match at his most vulnerable really makes for a compelling story for me. No Streak, no Redemption just one last dance for The Deadman against his biggest dream opponent, Sting. There wouldn't be The Streak hanging over the story, it's just the dream match some have been waiting on for years finally happening.

And oh yeah, Wyatt REALLY needs this win.

I Agree, I am a HUGE Taker mark so I hope he win this match and then go and beat Sting in their retirement match next year.. but another loss will not effect his legacy as the streak is already broken I think it's better for everybody if he give Wyatt the boost by losing to him and then in the Raw after Mania he confront the winner Sting as "The REAL icon of WWE" and they start building for the double retirement match at WM32.

This way Sting get's his WM moment this year, Wyatt get the Taker stamp of approval, Taker win his retirement match in his hometown next year and WWE send WCW to it's final resting place.

C'mon WWE, are you really gonna make Bray lose this year?

The buildup has been too good IMO(aside from Undertaker not showing up). I use to be one of the people that said that Bray could still look strong in defeat at Wrestlemania, but given that Bray since the Rumble has been building up this feud literally by himself, calling himself "The new face of fear", and the WWE even releasing a T-Shirt for it, I'm really starting to believe that it's a NECESSITY that Bray wins this year. I mean how stupid would it make Bray look for him to just lose after ALL that buildup by himself, with Undertaker not even showing his face once beforehand and the day that he does, he beats him and it's goodbye Taker again for another year...?

I mean this is how the WWE decides to reward a guy who literally carried this whole feud by HIMSELF for 2 months? TBH It would be terrible and bad for business if it played out like this, and it could very well bring Bray's momentum back to where he was post Cena IMO.

But hey, at least we know Taker is not a known as a politician, and is willing to make guys look good so who knows, maybe Taker could be like "Fuck that, Bray needs to go over". But we all know at the end of the day Vince has the final word, and these past years he hasn't been too keen on pulling the trigger on anyone new that isn't named Roman Reigns, or if his hand was forced by the fans(last year with Daniel Bryan).

Anyway I'm confident Taker could make Bray look strong to some degree, even in loss. But to me, Bray needs to look freakin AWESOME at this point, not just strong, and a win at Wrestlemania would do that IMO, especially if you are going to push Bray with the "new face of fear" shtick.

Let's hope the WWE surprises us this year.

In my opinion I think Bray should have been the one to break the streak.

He could take over Taker's supernatural powers and become unstoppable

Re: Do Yall really think Taker is going over Bray at Mania?

This is Taker's redemption moment. It's typical WWE booking. A guy loses a big match, gets a rematch against that person, wins to get his redemption. Or that person gets a big match against someone else, wins and gets his redemption. The whole point of this is to show that Taker's washed no knees having ass is still dangerous after being broken by Bork.

Plus it seems to me like Taker/Sting are going to face off at Mania 32 so he has to win.

I'm just worried about the quality of this match. I don't see it being good. It shouldn't go over 15 minutes.

I think if it's 15 minutes of the two guys throwing bombs at each other, it can be a great match. Think Taker vs. Batista. Taker was in arguably the peak shape of his career at the time, but I think a match like that with Wyatt can work.

I do think that the longer over 15 minutes, 20 at the most, the match goes, the more dangerous it gets becoming boring.

Anyway, feud so far has been one of the highlights of the road to Mania for me, along with Heyman's promos and Mizdow/Miz feud advancement... and it's really all down to Wyatt at this point. He's done a top notch job of carrying the feud now for nearly two months, and he still has a couple more Raws to go. I really think Taker should appear on at least one of them, definitely the last one before Mania if nothing else, because we finally have Taker's answer and I can't imagine where Wyatt can go with his promos now. You could argue he's been repeating himself the last couple of weeks, in particular this week was probably his weakest since he began, so I think a Taker appearance before Mania is required. I understand where they are going with holding off on Taker's return until Mania itself, but I think the feud needs him making that one appearance right before Mania and getting into some altercation with Wyatt.

There is no question in my mind that Taker wins this one.

You know what though? I don't think Bray will be all that affected by the loss. Certainly not as much as the Cena loss. The man has won me over forever with how he's been creating interest for this match, while Taker has been gone. As much as people think that Bray needs this win more than anything (which I would love to see... and I agree that a win would cement him for the rest of his career, assuming decent booking afterwards), it does makes logical sense to me to have Taker and Sting both win, if they're going to be fighting at WrestleMania 32

Here's a clue that we're getting a new "Outlaw" Undertaker at Wrestlemania

Is this obvious to everyone? Definitely it must've been for fans of Johnny Cash.

Playing on the screen: At Wrestlemania, the Man Comes Around

"The Man Comes Around" is the title of a song most famously performed by Johnny Cash. If you remember, Undertaker briefly used another Cash song for his theme awhile back: Ain't No Grave. At that time, there were many reports of Undertaker's planned "rebirth" as what was called the "Last Outlaw" which was basically going to be a western style mishmash of his deadman and biker characters.

It never happened iirc because Taker decided to become part time not long after that. But look, the Johnny Cash connection with this Wrestlemania is no coincidence, it's a clue.

It could be nothing but an aesthetic change and I'd still find it cool. People overuse the term "mark out" but I've longed for the Outlaw Undertaker since it was teased and speculated on years ago.
