Am I One of the Few Who's Getting Excited for WrestleMania 31?

With all the negativity almost everywhere when it comes to wrestling fans, I want to be positive and be excited for Wrestlemania 31.

There are so many excited things about and from it seems, there are many future stars will make an impact on the show.

I, mean, the lineup of the matches leading to the show seem decent to great. Sting's WWE debut match with Triple H is going to be great. Undertaker and Bray Wyatt will be surprisingly good, and I believe the main event will be better than people would expect.

So, how about you? Are there people who're excited for the show?

Re: Am I One of the Few Who's Getting Excited for Wrestlemania 31?

I'm more excited for the card as a whole than I was last year. The only matches I was looking forward to last year were the main event (which everyone knew DB would be in, thus, making his match with HHH less exciting), and the Taker/Brock match just because I thought it would be a cool match to see.

I'm looking forward to the main event, Taker/Wyatt, HHH/Sting, the IC ladder match, and hopefully they're going with Orton/Rollins as I'd be excited for that too.

Being negative around here is the trendy thing to be, but I have a feeling most people are excited. No one that absolutely hates something continues watching it multiple times a week and writing about it online every day.... Or, maybe they do, but that's just stupid.

I can't wait. My only gripe is having to work early the next morning, haha.

Overall, I'm fairly disappointed with the card, and while I'm still somewhat looking forward to the show, I'm not as excited as I normally am.

Brock/Reigns; not the match I wanted. I don't think it will be terrible, but it's predictable, I don't buy into the story, nor do I expect the crowd to do so. Having said that, if the crowd shits all over it, it could actually be really perversely entertaining...

Triple H/Sting; it has the novelty/big name factor, and I understand why people are excited for it, but I think this match will be pretty poor. I remember watching Sting main-event Bound for Glory 2009(?) against AJ Styles, one of the greatest wrestlers in the world, and the match being extremely underwhelming. I suspect that he's only gotten worse in the ring since then. Also, the Scorpion Death Drop is such a weak finisher, I struggle to take it seriously. I hope they prove me wrong, but I predict that this will disappoint a lot of people.

Bray/Taker; I'm enjoying Bray's segments, and the lack of Taker on Raw should make it extra exciting to see him return at WM. As a spectacle, it should be cool, and I'm looking forward to it. As a match? I think this has potential both to be a massive flop and an all-time classic, depending on which Taker shows up. Wyatt has the ability to tell a really good story in the ring (Cena WM30), but when he has a bad match, it can be really bad (Kane SS13). I'm hopeful this will pleasantly surprise a lot of people, though.

Cena/Rusev; I enjoyed the first match, though it suffered from a largely apathetic crowd. The end result is predictable and horribly overdone (Cena triumphing over the odds), and I'm hoping Rusev doesn't look like a total loser at the end of this, but if this match has the right stipulation (No DQ) it should be a good one. A Submission match between these two could lead to a snoozefest though, and an I-Quit match would probably be even worse.

Rollins/Orton; slow-build, but this will hopefully lead to an excellent, fast-paced match (think Orton/Christian, Over the Limit 2012), and my pick for MOTN. Genuinely excited for this.

IC Ladder Match; Bryan deserves way more, and a match vs Lesnar could have been an all-time classic. Ziggler also deserved a bigger match. However, this should be great, and whilst that doesn't take away my disappointment with the WWE's booking, it does give me one more match to look forward to than I was expecting a week or two ago.

Andre Battle Royal: list of participants looks weaker than last year, I would rather have this on the pre-show and add Stardust vs Goldust and/or a Tag Team Championships match to the main card

The card for WM31 is solid but unspectacular. It isn't as exciting as it ought to have been, but it is unlikely to be a total disaster.

I want to be excited for the show as a whole, but as each week passes instead of getting more excited I find myself getting less excited, other than for the IC Ladder match and Sting/Taker

I am interested in the WWE Title match (wouldn't say excited) but interested in it for ALL the wrong reasons; to see if Lesnar will half-ass it and see how the crowd treats the match.

Interested in Taker/Wyatt (wouldn't say excited) to see how Taker looks and to see if they will actually put over Wyatt.

But I will say that I am not where near excited as I should be for WM, WM is supposed to be like Christmas, or The Superbowl, or The World Cup, or w/e analogy you want to use, for Wrestling (or WWE) Fans, and it just doesn't come close to having that feel this year for me.

I'm very excited for this WM and tbh it's probably the most excited I've been since WM28. Look at the card, it's got the potential to be an awesome PPV, obviously not around here because I'm sure threads will be made the second it's over calling it the worst PPV of all time.

We don't know who's gonna be in the IC Title Ladder Match but we can assume that Barrett, Ziggler, Bryan, Ambrose, Truth will be involved at least and these are 5 good-great workers that'll make that match really fun to watch. Sting-HHH is just gonna be great. Never mind it's Sting's first appearance at WM or whatnot but you've got 2 guys who, even at their age, know how to put on a performance when its needed. And you can be guaranteed they'll work their asses off in this one. Wyatt-Taker, Taker's a bit of a risk at this stage because of how beat up he's speculated to be but then again that's always the case and we always leave WM talking about how good Taker's match was, & Wyatt's a good in-ring worker and while I don't think this will be a classic, I don't see anything less than ***. Reigns- Lesnar, I'm so excited for this match and I think it'll be a very tense affair. Both guys love a good brawl and they seem to be a good match in that sense. Put the title on the line and the fact this should be Reigns' shining moment, you've got yourself an exciting main-event. Add in Seth Rollins-Orton, Rusev- Cena, Cody Rhodes- Goldust, Andre the Giant Battle Royal, Tag match & this is without a doubt
one of the more stacked cards in recent memory.

You'll see a lot of negativity around here about this event but when you analyse it and look at it for yourself, get excited because it has so much potential :)

I'm not excited for any of it. Curious about a few things, dreading a few others, but no excitement. Bray v Undertaker could've been awesome, but there's no build and basically no reason for the match. Reigns v Lesnar is just a joke. Sting v Triple H is ironically shaping up to the best match on the card. Cena v Rusev might be interesting but then again it could also be just Cena fuckery.

Re: Am I One of the Few Who's Getting Excited for Wrestlemania 31?

I am.

6 man ladder match is great, I've been wanting a return of MITB and this is the next best thing, if not better.

Sting's WWE first match. Taker vs Wyatt should be good, excited about taker, I've never seen him live. The ME should be good, I always enjoy watching Brock. Than there's the battle royal which should be entertaining.

Still hoping Hogan is in Cena's corner somehow.

This will be a good one. At least that's what I'm expecting.

Re: Am I One of the Few Who's Getting Excited for Wrestlemania 31?

I'm excited for Mania itself. Taker returning, Sting's debut match, Rollins vs. Orton will be good, the crowd reaction to Lesnar vs. Reigns, the Ladder match.

The problem is the Road to WrestleMania. This is supposed to be the most exciting time of the year and this year has just been flat. With guys like Sting, Taker, and Lesnar, who are all apart of your 3 biggest matches on the show, are hardly there they have to compensate for that and a lot of what we see on TV ends up being filler.

Most of the people in the Mania 31 travel thread are excited cos we're all going. I'm really excited myself.

I can't WAIT for the IC title ladder match, especially if there's a chance my boy Dean Ambrose will win and I'll see it in person!!

I'm excited to see Sting in person cos I've never seen him before. I'm excited about the main event cos I'm a Roman Reigns fan. I'm excited to see Undertaker again. I'm excited about the Andre The Giant battle royal cos I think battle royals are fun. I'm excited about everything else cos I think being there in person makes things better.

Yeah I'm an overly positive person, but I'm going to Mania, so I'm more likely to be positive about it :lol

I was excited for the ladder match but they already fucked that up on Smackdown this week. I also was really looking forward to Orton/Rollins but the build up for that match has been complete ass.

Sting/Triple H i could give 2 shits about, Roman/Lesnar will only be good if Lesnar decides to shoot on Reigns and Wyatt/Taker so far has been a bust. So yeah not a lot i look forward to this year. But i got the WWE Network so i might as well just watch it it to see how much it will suck.

I don't know. After Fastlane with the Orton return, the great Sting/HHH confrontation and Wyatt appearing from the casket, my excitement levels were through the roof only to be bought down a tad with Reigns beating Bryan.

Now it seems like Taker won't appear till Wrestlemania itself so will likely go over Bray, the Sting/HHH hype from Fastlane has worn off a little with the lackluster Raw build, and they've taken the Orton/Rollins fued in the worst possible direction possible with just a few weeks before Mania.

Not to mention Daniel Bryan has gone from Main Eventing WM 30 to being put in the same match as the likes of R-Truth/Stardust/Goldust 1 year later.

Finally, the excitement I had for the ladder match has just faded now that it has the same number of people in it as the Battle Royal.

Oh yeah and when the only reason you're watching the Main Event is to see the crowd shit on the match, you know it's bad.

So am I excited right now? I don't think so.

Been waiting 30 years to go to a Wrestlemania, so I'm excited no matter the card. It will be my first time seeing a ladder match live too!

My seats kinda suck, but the whole experience of that week, Axxess, Wrestlecon, RAW, it's all about the whole thing. I'm hyped!

And hyped about the main event only because I want to see just how bad it's gonna get. Seriously. But hey, at least its not Cena vs Miz...

Yes, I am too:)

Can't wait for a long-time dream of Sting wrestling for WWE come true:mark:

Not excited, looking forward to some of the matches but I can't say I have a genuine excitement or buzz around watching the show. More a case I will watch it because it is on and I feel obliged to. But too many of the matches have had weak builds, no Taker, no Lesnar, no Sting, hard to get invested in matches when it is just one side of the story being told. Also the whole show being in daylight annoys me too, I like a dark enviroment, good lightning and pyro, none of which this Mania is going to have much of.

Re: Am I One of the Few Who's Getting Excited for Wrestlemania 31?

I'm only excited to see Goldust vs Stardust, the ladder match for the IC title, Orton vs Rollins and HHH vs Sting(first time that I will ser Sting wrestling, so thats a strong motive). The rest is pointless, for me. It's a good thing that you're enjoying it, I wish I could.

Re: Am I One of the Few Who's Getting Excited for Wrestlemania 31?

I'm hype for the ladder match and Sting/HHH. The main event is interesting for the wrong reasons, but sign me up.

I think me being on vacation for five days helps the excitement level, but even if I was staying at home I'd be hype, just not this early out.

Re: Am I One of the Few Who's Getting Excited for Wrestlemania 31?

What makes me more excited, personally, is that it's the first time I'm going to watch Wrestlemania on a big screen inside a cinema? >:)

Re: Am I One of the Few Who's Getting Excited for Wrestlemania 31?

It's terrible. The main matches involve people who are never there and two of them aren't even good in the ring anymore. But "omg sting and taker!" Nostalgia will happen and then people wonder why wwe sucks now. Potential for one of the WOAT manias, quality wise

Re: Am I One of the Few Who's Getting Excited for Wrestlemania 31?

I'm excited, if for nothing else, it's still the grandaddy of em all. I thoroughly enjoy the spectacle of the event. And the card has promise. That being said I am incredibly disappointed in this Road to WrestleMania build.

Basically no Brock (the Champ), no Taker, barely any Sting. Those are three of the biggest names on the card and basically you won't see them until Mania.
