Re: The Last of Us
I was going to describe it as a mixture of Heavy Rain and Uncharted but I see a few others have already made the comparison.
I picked it up today on release (first game to of done that for since Halo 3 lol) and I've put about 3 hours in it so far, I'm quite enjoying it so far, there are a few things that slightly detract like glitches (like an autosave one, which better not affect my progress because I've been having troubles with it for a while), some animations could use a little more smoothing out and sometimes the inventory system feels awkward but the storyline is phenomenal and there is actual substance to the characters. I'm not going to spoil anything but the first hour or so of the game is a real treat to play and given that I haven't watched anything of it bar the original teaser I have very much enjoyed the mechanics, style and plot of the game.
Very impressed, by far one of the better games I've played in a long time.
Someone mentioned something about shooting mechanics being off earlier in the thread, they're fine for me. You're not meant to shoot much at all and if you are it should be pre-meditated and planned. You're punished with wild inaccuracy for shooting too much. A lot of decision making in the way you play the game tbh. The amount of freedom you have in each situation reminds me of Metal Gear Solid 4 tbh.
