Lets reminisce Goldeneye 64

For you retro fans out there and FPS shooters, you should all know Goldeneye regardless it being a James Bond movie, but also it being one of the best video games I have ever played. This game was my childhood, I do not even want to know how many I sat on this game consistently repeating missions for fun and playing with my friends in split-screen multiplayer.

This was by far one of the best games I have ever played still, and I did pick up Goldneye Reloaded last year but it was not very good for the reasons that its never going to beat the original and I do not like remastered games that try and put a present day style on it such as Daniel Craig in a Pierce Brosnan story. I do love Daniel Craig though.

I remember the exact day I got this game. Me and my Mum&Dad walked past our local town centre and I saw a Nintendo 64 box with Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. At the time I was a huge Bond kid, and I immediatly asked for it and was granted it due to my obsession with Bond :L. So I went home, and literally this was the beginning of my gaming career and my-god what a first-time experience owning my own console. Sure I played the Sega etc, but this was the first time I had a console to myself and I reminisce back now and It was such a good time period.

This was truly a memorable game, I wish it could come out on 360 on Arcade as a updated HD version or something, I do not think I will leave the bedroom for a few days. Anyone else remember this game, please reminisce the old days of this truly fine video-game adaption of an also class film.

best Bond film, that's for sure.

the recent remake on PS3 was excellent as well, and you got play as Craig instead

my favorite was playing with remote mines only and throwing them onto people then blowing them up.

Re: Lets reminisce Goldeneye 64

Did you enjoy the remake? I was not really a fan of Goldeneye Reloaded and it wasnt down to Daniel Craig or anything like that - Because Daniel Craig is an amazing modern day interpretation of Bond more true to the Fleming books and someone who looks like he could kick the holy beep out of you.

I just wasnt a fan of the remastered interpretation, I liked the more original storyline to it probably because it was my childhood movie and game. And agreed, I loved throwing proximity mines and detonating them as my friends run past.

What I use to do is make our characters have big heads, so we would run around the map with massive heads and was utterly hillarious ;D

Great game, so many hours played with that game. Goldeneye never died

Loved Goldeneye, me and my brother spamming the mines on each other, and using the golden gun. I remember how excited I was when I beat the game. If I'm not mistaken it was one of the first games I had ever completed story wise (hence the excitement), don't recall beating anything on SNES.

What was great about the remake was it better than the original campaign, plus it had modernized controls. You could sneak around and do stealth take downs too. The original goldeneye campaign was...good, but not the reason everyone played it. the multiplayer in the new one is better than the original, but since we all remember playing it with 3 other friends and the characters, nostalgia will always rule all.

IGN - 8.5
Metacritic - 72/100
Gamespot - 8/10
PC world - 3.5/ 5
Desctructoid - 8.5/10
Escapist Magazine - 5/5

so like, I'm not the only one. I'm talking about Goldeneye: Reloaded (2010), not that rouge agent shit.
