Plus they're two different types of game, not the same...
But it's stupid. I played Army of Two: the 40th day and it was a decent game, but nowhere near a GOTY contender material like Bioshock Infinite is and I doubt that The Devil's Cartel has made any major improvements to become a better game. I'm not one to really care about scores as I like to judge games myself, but those ratings are really misleading. Plus, independent reviewers have been giving the Devil's Cartel 6/10 and 7/10s.

But I shouldn't be that surprised, Gamespot gave a shit game like Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 a 7/10. Fuck their logic.

Playing on hard is way better than default difficulty. I switched after the first few fights were too easy. I actually have to rely on Liz for health and ammo as I'm always running out. Already died a few times on hard and only made it 5 to 6 hours through. Loving this game. Can't wait to play 1999 mode.

It's not stupid though. If a reviewer, and all are different, likes a game then he's going to score it very highly, he's not going to judge it against any other game but that one. That's why I like the 10 point scale because you aren't gonna get that many situations were people start complaining because one game got a 0.1 above another. They still think both are fantastic games.

Now I've played the first Army of Two and found a lot of thinks wrong with it but maybe they've improved things since then, and plus it's by Visceral Games who can make pretty great 3rd person shooters. Which brings back to my point of not comparing the two since both are from different styles of games. Also people shouldn't just look at the score face value they should actually take the time to read the review and the plus/minuses of the game to get a better feel of what they like/dislike about the game.

And if I had to choose between the two games I'd go with Bioshock, but that's just my preference, others may go for AoT...

That's what I did. I'm playing it on the PC and it's stunning. Completely addicted. I spent the first hour just walking around and exploring things.

This game looks good and I might buy it this week. Do I need to play the previous two games to understand the story?

Nope, they're both completely separate. Completely new setting, characters, story and powers. Think it's set about 40 years before the first game.

this.

I played the first two and am completely lost. I spent about 4 hours just walking around looking at stuff before I even started fighting. So beautiful.

Wait until you get to the arcade with all the Dimwit and Duke machines. Spent about 20mins just listening to those. They've definitely created another brilliant setting. Just as exciting to explore as Rapture was.

I just landed on the beach and said "THERE'S A FUCKING BEACH!!!"(thought it'd be a good spot to stop for the night). I actually might finish the game on medium, while blazed; then play through it again on hard for a real challenge.

It's gonna be epic.
