Guy buys Wii U, breaks, gets new one, loes all his old games he bought worth $400...
http://kotaku.com/5982965/nintendo-f...-wii-u-problem
What's pathetic, is that Nintendo was informed of the issue, and still chose no to help the guy who had already bought games from them. This is fucking pathetic. Nintendo should be thankful they even have customers willing to fork out cash for those old games when emulators play them just fine. Assholes.
If your Wii U breaks, don't get a new one I guess.

wait, that't not Nintendo's fault. That's obvious. You can't transfer downloaded games between systems. He should have either contacted nintendo (like the article said he should of) or looked up that information before hand.
hell, I just lost everything on my PS3 to similar problems and even I wasn't that dumb. It's not like transferring a HDD. Guy's an idiot, his fault.

Im not seeing why or how this is news. The guy didnt contact nintendo, and somehow thought taking it back to the store he got it from would be a better idea.
Got what he deserved. Considering that nowadays most computer hardware/consoles come with a pamphlet stating "IF THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS HARDWARE, CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER".

If I break my PS3/360 I can re-download everything back to my account. With Nintendo there's no account system.

Why would you have your games downloaded onto your system?

this is a known thing for Nintendo; more so for someone who has bought every Nintendo system on release. It's one thing to expect to get games purchased because you can prove it with a credit card statement if need be; but to expect saved files to be transferable is silly.
same thing happened to me with my PS3 and I called Sony the same day and found out what to do. He can probably still do the same if he can prove what he bought.

iTunes, Xbox Live, PSN all use a system like that. Point is something like this shouldn't happen in the first place.

ok, it's a Nintendo ID he had to set up for the transfer. I thought it meant that he literally only transferred them from the HDD of his old Wii; not making it an official (recognized by Nintendo) transfer, or something like that. Like transferring save files between systems or something.
That's just a shit setup by nintendo then.

Same thing happened to another guy but for a few hundred more. Except he called Ninty first, they found a solution that gave the guy all the games and an extra $50 as a sorry for the trouble
