It is likely that digital media will gradually become the majority as consumers seek to purchase new media.

Just like how you can hardly find a VCR or a standard TV anymore, all you'll see is digital media instead.

Yes, clearly that's not what I said. I mentioned that there's more to go wrong with a downloaded file, such as corrupted data etc. Data is far less likely to be corrupted on a disc, as the disc itself would have to go wrong, rather than the system itself.

Fuck streaming games, the infrastructure can't handle it, and will be 10 years behind if they do upgrade it by the time they finish.

I have no problem with digital content, but I do have a problem with pay $65 for digital content. When games go the way of full download, on consoles, hopefully I wont have to pay the, currently, retarded PSN prices for games.

I'm in the camp that would rather own a physical copy. Downloading has it uses don;t get me wrong but I find it more statisfying/reassuring to actually know I have a copy of whatever.

Re: Disc Format Is Probably Going To Die For Games Within The Next Decade Or So

I'm in the physical format camp, but I do download a lot because either its the only way its available (indie games, XBLA, PSN, Virtual Console) or its PC (mainly because once you install there is no need for the discs really).

Btw McQueen, there is an XBLA retail release of Limbo, Trials HD, and Spolsion Man. You should get it.

$10 on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/pack-LIMBO-Tri...keywords=limbo

Retails for $30, awesome deal, get it. Limbo and Trials HD are both $15 each on XBLA. Splosion Man is $10 but at that point, its all gravy. $10 for $40 worth of games.

In the end it really doesn't matter which you prefer. In today age of consoles, developers can probably patch the content right off your disk. Its seen all the time with weapons being patched in shooters, game bugs being fixed in both single player and multiplayer...In Skyrim, they added in combat while on a horse.

Just keep console offline and buy your content on disc
