Why does that matter? If its a used game, that means its a pre-purchased game. The company already got their X% of the sale. They shouldn't care.if the game went into the ocean at that point they made the money.

Now I know that you may come back with, "a used game purchased, is a dollar out of developer wallet" That may be true but America is going through/coming out of a recession. Sometimes you ave to go dollar menu instead of supersizing it. That means save a dollar and use it later.

Some games do it very very well...and surprise surprise, they are 1st party Ninty games.

Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, Paper Mario, Star Fox, etc. Apparently Fire Emblem is the best so far.

Me playing used games has made Microsoft money. I borrowed Dead Space and liked it so I bought Dead Space 2 new. The same thing happened with Bioshock. There have been a total of around ten games I wouldn't have bought if I didn't play them first. The only thing that will change this though is if people actually don't buy the new systems but that won't happen. It will just keep getting worse.

You answered your own query but lets face it the Devs don't care about us saving some money buying a 2nd hand game they want you to buy a brand new game at full price as they are in the business of making money that's just a fact we have to deal with I'm not defending their decision to do this but I can certainly understand where they are coming from, my personal belief is console game prices will drop to a similar level of PC games if these changes come into effect.

There has been an awakening, have you felt it

All this means is that those who buy used, will have to wait a bit on new releases. Which I figure, you buy used so you're used to waiting. However, this is going to suck if you dont buy every game in the next generation. If you try and go back to try and play say Halo 3, you'd be hard pressed to find a new copy.

Niche titles with limited print will be even more rare if they block used games next gen. People will hoard them and sell it for a lot more than the original price.
