Not sure what all the hate is about, to tell the truth. I haven't delved too far into the single player, but the Multiplayer is really good. I like the modes, and playing as the alien isnt too bad once you get used to it. My biggest beef is the Left 4 Dead mode is really hard to win as the aliens. Because the marines respawn every round, the only way to decievely win is to eleimate all of the marines which is hard to do. It also feels like the maps in that mode are kind of short. I also don't like that the finishers can only be used in certain modes.
Beyond that, it's a lot of fun and I'm enjoying it. Love the graphics, the presentation and the music, the character progression, customization and upgrades are cool too. Think this is a sad case of cynics wanting to jump right into being negative nancies instead of POSITIVE PETES

It's not wrong to like the game, but it is wrong to review it and give it a 9 when there is so much busted content within, and deliberately mislead people that read your website. It's not even close to a 9/10. This game is 1 point shy of perfection? lol @ that. If I was a kid who subscribed to their magazine and bought that pile of shit based on their reviews, I'd be ripshit, and justifiably so. And many people report that the marines are OP as fuck compared to the aliens in multiplayer.
I dont think they mislead people they just let people build up their own hype. Look back at the trailers, they are so simple and basic in what they show. All they really do is show that its an aliens game with the marines on it and it ties into the films. They didnt show AI or features or much gameplay. And its clear the game needed so much more testing.
They knew putting out a demo would ruin its sales, they just hoped for profit on day one and then damage control on the reviews

When I first saw the early screenshots for Aliens: Colonual Marines I was pretty excited bout it. Then when gameplay videos started to emerge I started to get a feeling it would dissapoint... And from the early reviews Ive seen so far I was right to not get too hyped up for this one. IGN scored it 4.5/10!!! It looks dated already, they say there's no optimization for the console version so textures look blocky and theres also lag and screen tear.
This is just not on for a game of today to be so poorly slapped together the way it has been and not deliver on its early "gameplay" footage. Wont even bother with this one, looks like an instant bargain bin game that may sell few copies on franchise alone but fans will be dissapointed no doubt
I tried it yesterday just to see for myself how bad it is and it is truly bad. Graphics are almost worse than Half Life 2's, it looks and feels extremely dated and there's just no reason for this game to exist, it offers nothing worthy. Good thing Crysis 3 is right around the block.
