SR3 was really fun for about 15 hours. Then nothing. If there had been a meatier main story, it would've been amazing. Hopefully SR4 rectifies that. Doesn't seem wise to go against GTA though.

This is only good news for me as it means I get two games to buy instead of just GTA V. I don't need to pick between one here, I enjoy both franchises.

This is a border skirmish at best, not a war. GTA V will murder Saints Row and rightfully so. Saints Row was pretty lackluster from the beginning, the only thing that was great about it was the Mike and David Show on KBOOM from the first game, then they never brought them back.
3 was just a mess, they just took any stupid idea they thought of and flung it up against the wall. It was like what would happen if Vince McMahon made a video game based on nothing but unfiltered thoughts in his head. "GOD DAMN, LET'S KILL LUCHADORES WITH GIANT PURPLE DILDO BATS! "

I don't think I've ever played a Saints Row game on my own, unless you count the demo of the first game. Always played with a friend in Co-Op completing the second and getting almost through the third before putting it down. Haven't picked it up since. I've always found Saints Row to be dumb stupid shit, not really adding anything amazing to the gaming world.
Where as I've always found GTA to have the better writing, characters, world, humour etc., which always brings me back for more. Everything about those games are awesome and with each new game they have improved upon every aspect of them. Well, apart from hand to hand combat which still sucks. So I don't really see SR4 even touching GTA5, that's gonna have a massive release day, just like 4 did.

Not really a war as such more of of GTA V SQUASH.
SR4 will not do anywhere near amount of sales GTA will. But it's good news for me as i plan to purchas eboth, but thinking about it i'll wait for a SR price drop
