Re: Wii U's weak sales hurt Nintendo earnings
All they seem to do is rehash Mario Games. Seriously it makes more sense just to get the original Wii at this point.

It's weird, I have quite a high gamerscore for the 360 and I do like to collect them but only on games that I've actually enjoyed playing. I wouldn't go out of my way just to get the really easy ones like that Avatar game just to get a quick 1000Gs. I actually want to enjoy playing the game as well as unlocking them.
But if a system doesn't have them I'm not bothered. Take Steam for example. I have quite a few games on Steam, well over 100, and I really couldn't give a shit about the achievements they have on there. And that shows with the massive sales of the Wii, over 70m units and none had achievements.
As for the WiiU I actually thought it was doing alright for Nintendo. I heard they lost over $500m last year, but the system got them a profit. Maybe I heard that wrong, whatever... Still, I'll eventually get one has I have more interest in this system than the last one.

Not shocking. It's a silly idea and I hope it doesn't do well.

Wii U to me just looked like a retarded concept.

Re: Wii U's weak sales hurt Nintendo earnings
Have you guys calling the Wii U silly played it yet?
I think there's a ton of potential in the second screen. It just needs the right game to really highlight that. ZombiU had glimpses of brilliance, using the second screen as an inventory system, which would drag your eye away from the enemy, resulting in a much more tense and challenging experience.
Much, much less of a gimmick than motion controls.

As a gamer I don't really want something that takes my eyes away from the screen.

Re: Wii U's weak sales hurt Nintendo earnings
It's not really taking you away from the game, though. You're still involved and connected to it, but while your looking through your inventory the game still plays, keeping it tense as you try and search quickly for the tool, or equipment that you want.
When I saw footage of ZombiU I thought they did really well with implementing the second screen into the game. They had quite a few good ideas that seemed to work very well. Hopefully more games can come up with better ways of using it.

But how do you know if you've never tried it? That's my point. Not every game is going to pull focus away from the TV. I was just using ZombiU as an example because the second screen enhanced the great atmosphere of the world.
Some games don't even use the screen.

Depends how you look at it. There's a lot more that can be done with the gamepad.
Motion controls rarely added anything to the experience. Skyward Sword was one of the very few games that got it right, and even that would've benefited from normal controls. Most of the time it was just motion controls for the sake of it.
