Re: Official Pokemon Discussion Thread!

Congrats, Booboos.

For Metagross, I always use a mixed moveset (Meteor Mash, Psychic, Earthquake and Bullet Punch) for the sake of avoiding walls and using his workable special attack stat. But considering how great its attack stat is, you can always use a physical set (Meteor Mash, Zen Headbutt and Earthquake) with Agility to remedy its average speed stat.

Thanks dude! I think I'm gonna go with the 1st one. Meteor Mash, Psychic, EQ, and Bullet Punch. Btw, I was using the Mesuda method along with a newly discovered method the "blue method". I don't think it's proven yet but it is when you have more steps on your 3DS you get more shinies. I've hatched probably over 600 eggs in total and the 5th egg using the blue method a shiny pops out. Definitely gonna keep doing it. Tomorrow I'm starting to breed for a shiny Dragonite! Wish me luck!

Re: Official Pokemon Discussion Thread!

I need Froakie or anything that breeds with Froakie with perfect IVs in speed.
My Greninja was outsped by Alakazam, so I'm going to breed and train a new one but dont have anything to pass an IVs.

upd: get one. Hopefully this one will have all 191 points at lvl 50.

Re: Official Pokemon Discussion Thread!

Trying to decide what I should play now. Thinking Platinum. It's the only Gen 4 game I played since I quit because of Gen 3 being so horrible. It's either that or Soul Silver which I still haven't finished 100%. I'd say I've logged about 1000 hours in gen 2 though, having played through all 3 games a couple times, and even losing them and replaying through. Heck, I think Gen 1 might be 1200+ hours. Oh to be young and have a game boy I'd say Gen3 is like 300 hours, and Gen 4 is only 130. Gen 5 would be more simply because I played more games, but that would be like 250 probably, and I'd say Gen 6 is at 80.

So Gen 4 or Gen 2

Re: Official Pokemon Discussion Thread!

Just did a second playthrough of LeafGreen around two weeks ago and Platinum a few days ago and am currently on my second playthrough of HeartGold. That being said, definitely go with HG/SS, since they retained the awesome memories of G/S/C as well as bringing in cool things like prominent visuals (a la Platinum), the Pokeathlon (which will always shit all over contests) and the physical / special split (the latter of which had, up to that point, been the most influential mechanic of the series since Gen. II introduced breeding, daytime / nighttime and friendship).

Re: Official Pokemon Discussion Thread!

Actually, the most influential thing Gen 2 did was split special into attack and defense.

So you spent 300 hours playing games you hate?

Re: Official Pokemon Discussion Thread!

Just got every Kanto badge in a single day in HeartGold. Kicking Blue's ass after he talked shit about Johto felt good then in G/S/C and in my first playthrough of HG and it feels good now in my second playthrough. :westbrook2

Nah, breeding was easily the influential thing that it introduced. Breeding >>> Daytime and nighttime ≥ Special being split into special atack and special defense.
