raise your hand (figuratively) if you defeated ASH to end Gold/Silver/Crystal version in only one try.
You mean on my very first try? Probably not. Don't think I can remember my very first file as I've had countless files on Crystal since. But on my last few files I've defeated him in one try, I've beaten him with Pokemon in their 50's before in one try. He's pretty easy now, but as kid he seemed challenging because I didn't know much about strategy and what moves were the best back then etc...
I'm working through the original, Gold/Silver, & Ruby/Sapphire. That's where I stopped at. Haven't even attempted to go past those right now.
The gen 2 games will always be my favorite. gen 1 and gen 3 were good, haven't played nearly enough of gen 4 to really judge that gen (I literally played 5 minutes of a Pokemon Platinum file before my DS died on me ) but I've seen lots of gameplay from those games from people on YouTube, and I like the look of Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Didn't really care for gen 5 and I only like a handful of Pokemon from that gen. Most Pokemon I've had was 238 on my Pokemon Crystal file, soo close to completing my Pokedex, but then I restarted my file.
Yep. And when your main Pokemon would have a bunch of worthless HM moves like Cut and Strength because you didn't know what a HM Slave was back then.. And you didn't know there was a move deleter in Pokemon Crystal.
